GENERAL
 
As a result of CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES having to be transported in the horse ambulance to the nearby veterinary clinic after the running of Race 4 and due to numerous runners in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas and the Magic Millions 2YO Classic being significantly delayed due to a major traffic accident whilst being transported to the course, start times for the remainder of the races were amended as follows:-

Race 5.          3.15 p.m.
Race 6.          4.00 p.m.
Race 7.          4.45 p.m.
Race 8.          5.20 p.m.
Race 9.          5.50 p.m.
 
Due to further delays the start times for the following races were amended as follows:-

Race 7.          4.50 p.m.
Race 8.          5.35 p.m.
Race 9.          6.05 p.m.
 
Race 1 – Magic Millions Maiden Plate – 1200m
 
As J. Collett was delayed due to traffic difficulties Stewards permitted T. Berry to be substituted as the rider of NO DOUBT A STAR.
 
STRETTO – Slow to begin.
 
CUBED – Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped heavily with SCOTTISH MIST, resulting in Jockey G. Boss becoming unbalanced and almost being dislodged. Soon afterwards shifted in and made contact with NO DOUBT A STAR.
 
KARENO – Jumped very awkwardly and shifted in making heavy contact with SCOTTISH MIST. Overraced badly in the early stages.
 
LAST CHANCE DANCE – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in making heavy contact with PRIVATE UNIVERSE and then shifted out bumping heavily with JUST CALL MY NAME.
 
HE’LL HAUNT US – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
LADY BRAHMOS – Raced three wide throughout.
 
PRIVATE UNIVERSE – Lost a front plate in running.
 
DIDDLES – Lost the near front plate in running.
 
Jockey M. Rodd (PLAYTHEFIELD) was fined $500 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 2 – Frizelle Sunshine Magic Millions Open Quality H’Cap – 1800m
 
GRESHAM – Reared at the start and lost ground.
 
DOUBT DEFYING – After leaving the 1500m commenced to overrace and was allowed to stride forward three wide to take up the lead near the 1200m.
 
 
Race 3 – $1M Ferrari Magic Millions Trophy – 2400m
 
IMPAVIDO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
THE CANDY MAN – After travelling a short distance after the start shifted in and had to be restrained from the heels of ENDLESS DAYS.  Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post -race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from the thumps and a swab sample was taken.
 
ENDLESS DAYS – Commenced to overrace passing the 1600m and was allowed to stride forward. Near the 200m was hampered when tightened for room between BLACK ON GOLD and THE CANDY MAN which shifted in.
 
TUMULTUOUS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
MARACAIBO – Jockey T. Berry reported the mare weakened badly in the home straight and did not feel entirely comfortable in its action. Stewards attempted to have the mare vetted however it had left the course and will speak to Trainer T. Busuttin regarding how it pulled up following the race.
 
Jockey J. Bayliss (OUTRAGED) was fined $300 for changing his boots after weighing out.
 
 
Race 4 – $1M It’s Live! In Queensland Magic Millions Snippets – 1200m
 
MORRISSY – From the outside gate was restrained to the rear of the field in order to obtain a position closer to the rail. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from the thumps and mild heat stress.
 
ISAURIAN – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
 
THREE SHEETS – Hampered at the start when tightened for room between TARZAN and ISAURIAN, which shifted out.
 
WHYPEEO – Raced very ungenerously when being restrained in the early stages.
 
TARZAN – Raced three wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to race outside the leader near the 700m.
 
SCALLOPINI – Overaced in the early stages and then hampered near the 600m to avoid the heels of CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES when that runner broke down.
 
HARD EMPIRE – Raced three wide without cover from the 700m.
 
CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES – Near the 600m was eased out of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had sustained an injury to its off hind leg and was transported off course by the horse ambulance for further diagnostics and treatment.
 
CONSTANT FLIGHT – Held up rounding the home turn and in the home straight until near the 150m.
 
MADAM ROUGE – Held up in the home straight and then shifted to the outside of the heels of ISAURIAN near the 150m in order to improve.
 
KEMALPASA – Held up for clear running in the home straight until inside the 100m.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 3.
Race 5 – $1M Sky Racing Active Magic Millions Fillies & Mares – 1300m
 
GINGER ROCK – Slow to begin.
 
INTO THE ABYSS – Near the 1000m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of MISTEED, which shifted in when not quite clear
 
TAHITIAN DANCER – Eased when tightened for room approaching the 1000m between MALAHIDE and ZIZZIS, which shifted in slightly. When questioned regarding the performance Jockey D. Oliver stated that after being inconvenienced near the 1000m the mare was not suited when the tempo was slow and did not sprint as expected in the home straight.
 
CONQUERMORE – Raced three wide in the early stages and crossed to race outside the leader near the 700m.
 
MALAHIDE – Shifted out to improve near the 500m and as a result made contact with ZIZZIS.
 
JAMI LADY – Held up rounding the home turn and in the home straight until near the 150m.
 
ZIZZIS – Forced wider rounding the home turn by MALAHIDE. Had to alter course inside the final 100m to the outside of MALAHIDE.
 
ROMANI GIRL – Rounding the home turn shifted out and became awkwardly placed at the heels of INVINCIBELLA for a short distance.
 
LA TIGERESA – Shifted in near the 150m and made heavy contact with CALL ME ROYAL. Soon afterwards CALL ME ROYAL after being contacted on the hind quarters shifted out resulting in LA TIGERESA being checked when tightened for room between CALL ME ROYAL and MISTEED.
 
TERMINOLOGY – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
MISTEED – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
PERSUADER – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
INVINCIBELLA – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
 
Race 6 – $2M Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas – 1400m
 
After arriving late on course both ALLIGATOR BLOOD and STAR SURPRISE underwent pre-race veterinary examinations and cleared to start.
 
The start was delayed when LEVIATHAN broke through the barriers after being loaded, galloped for a considerable distance and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 4.07 p.m. by order of Stewards acting on veterinary advice. All monies invested on LEVIATHAN were ordered to be refunded.  Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 4.07 p.m.:-
 
5 cents in the dollar for the win #2 (IRITHEA)
3 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #2 (IRITHEA)
10 cents in the dollar for the 2nd place #9 (TERMINOLOGY)
9 cents in the dollar for the 3rd  place #5 (TAHITIAN DANCER)
 
SCOUT – Cast a plate during the preliminary, received farrier attention behind the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced wide throughout.
 
STAR SURPRISE – Began very awkwardly and lost significant ground.
 
PROFIT – Jumped very awkwardly and shift in resulting in its rider becoming very awkward in the saddle.
 
EXHILARATES – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out bumping HOWWONDERFULLIFEIS. Rounding the home turn the near side winker became detached.
 
DUBIOUS – Hampered when tightened for room at the start.
 
THE EXECUTIONER – Tightened soon after the start by PROFIT, which after jumping awkwardly became unbalanced and shifted in.
 
IT’S KIND OF MAGIC – Overraced in the early stages. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
HOWWONDERFULLIFEIS – Raced three wide in the early stages.
 
LET IT POUR – Raced wide throughout.
 
ELEVEN ELEVEN – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
Jockey R. Maloney (ALLIGATOR BLOOD) was fined $500 for making a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post.
 
 
Race 7 – $2M The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic – 1200m
 
GOTTA KISS - Examined by the veterinary surgeon upon arrival and cleared to start.
 
EUPHORIC SUMMER – Examined by the veterinary surgeon upon arrival and cleared to start Again examined behind the barriers after momentarily getting its near hind leg cast on the barrier partition and was cleared to start. Overraced in the early stages. Held up in the early part of the home straight.
 
LADY BANFF - Examined by the veterinary surgeon after kicking through the back gates of the barrier and was cleared to start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained some lacerations to the near hind leg.
RATHLIN – Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and hampered SMART ‘N’ SEXY.
 
SMART ‘N’ SEXY – Hampered at the start when taken out by RATHLIN. Tightened for room near the 500m.
 
EVERY ROSE – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Steadied from the heels of DUSTY TYCOON near the 200m and was obliged to alter course to the outside inside the 100m.
 
WISDOM OF WATER – Blundered at the start and lost ground. Held up in the early part of the home straight. Near the 100m shifted out under pressure and made contact with CONCEITED.
 
AIM – Inclined to lay in in the home straight.
 
FARNAN – Soon after straightening shifted in and bumped the hind quarters of KAVAK. Then shifted out and brushed DUSTY TYCOON. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to have slightly slow post-race recovery.
 
DUSTY TYCOON – Inclined to lay out in the early part of the home straight when weakening.
 
CONCEITED – Bumped near the 100m by WISDOM OF WATER. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
NITROUS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
STELLAR PAULINE – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
AWAY GAME - Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
 
Race 8 – $1M Pacific Fair Magic Millions Cup – 1400m
 
THE PARTY GIRL – Overraced in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer D. Pfieffer was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to the mare racing again.
 
CRACK ME UP – Held up in the early part of the home straight. Then shifted to the inside of DEEP IMAGE and soon after that runner shifted in under pressure and then had to alter course to the outside of the heels of DEEP IMAGE in order to improve.
 
SAMBRO – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 9 – $1M Racing Queensland Magic Millions QTIS Open – 1300m
 
I’M A RIPPA was declared a late scratching at 4.26 p.m. acting on veterinary advice after the gelding shifted an off hind plate and in doing so injured its hoof.
 
FIT FOR PURPOSE – Slow to begin.
 
COLPO DI TAMBURO – Slow to begin.
 
MAGIC FOX – Near the 900m improved onto the heels of TOKORIKI LAD, shifted out and bumped FIT FOR PURPOSE.
 
OUTBACK BARBIE – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
EF TROOP – Raced three wide with cover throughout
 
BOOMTOWN LASS – Raced three wide without cover throughout. The mare was treated for heat stress.
 
MISHANI EL LOBO – Lost a near fore plate in running.
