Race 1: Chris O’Donohue Class B Handicap 850m
 
SIANARA – Slow into stride.
 
MARQUANT – Slow into stride. Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
MISS MANEUVER – Dislodged App. N Seymour when leaving the enclosure. Examined by the veterinary surgeon behind the barriers and was cleared to take its position in the field. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Put in an awkward stride near the 250 metres.
 
RAPT IN BLACK – Approaching the 650 metres was slightly inconvenienced when racing in restricted room inside of AIR TO SPARE. Passing the 400 metres laid out and was awkwardly placed at the heels of NEED FINANCE. Leaving the 150 metres laid in under pressure and was awkwardly placed at the heels of NEED FINANCE before its rider stopped riding and corrected his mount.
 
 
 
Race 2: Heron Island QTIS Maiden Plate 1000m
 
The start of this race was delayed when AQUIVER, after being loaded into the barrier, became fractious and was removed from the barriers and examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race. AQUIVER refused to be reloaded into the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 1:44pm. Deductions were s follows:
 
 
12 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
11 cents in the dollar on the face value place bets for the winner
11 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
11 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
 
Trainer L Kiernan was advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to the mare racing again.
 
The declaration of correct weight was declared to allow App. N Seymour to view the available patrol films for grounds to lodge an objection. After doing so App. N Seymour declined to continue and correct weight was declared.
 
TENOR LASS – Dislodged rider and slipped over upon leaving the enclosure. Was subsequently examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
 
MR PALOMINO – Began awkwardly unbalancing its rider.
 
NEW KINTARO – Tightened shortly after the start having to be checked and lose ground.
 
DUAN DUBAI – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
MATE’S RATE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
MISS SABATINI – Laid out under pressure near the 150 metres before being corrected by its rider.
 
SHEZROYAL – Began awkwardly. Obliged to alter course and shift in when awkwardly placed at the heels of MISS SABATINI near the 150 metres.
 
Race 3: Wayne Wilson Memorial BenchMark 60 Handicap 1000m
 
ZATORIO – Slow into stride.
 
CANDID – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
PEARL’S LAD – Raced wide back in the field.
 
SHROUDED – Slow into stride. Resented the sand kickback leaving the 900 metres and began to climb in its action and lost significant ground.
 
OVERLOAD – Laid out under pressure over the 150 metres.
 
Race 4: Departure Point Gladstone Newmarket Open Handicap 1194m
 
SPUR WITH EASE – Began awkwardly and shifted out at the start.
 
REVELIO – Slipped behind at the start losing ground.
 
AL’S BRIEFS – Raced three wide and hung out throughout.
 
CAPTAIN ADRIATIC – Raced four wide without cover until the 600 metres.
 
CRAIGLEA PISTOL – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 5: Summer Bright BenchMark 55 Handicap 1517m
 
BLOOMIN’ ARRY – Declared a late scratching at 12:20pm on veterinary advice when the gelding sustained a cut to the inside of the near hind leg on route to the track.
 
GOLD CROWN – Slow into stride. Held up approaching the 400 metres when attempting a narrow run inside ELLE THE MODEL which was tiring.
 
ATEACES – Slow into stride. Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
FAST TRICK – Bumped on jumping.
 
DEMESNE – Bumped on jumping. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
BAWAARDI ROCKET – Raced four wide with cover.
 
ELLE THE MODEL – After being caught wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward and obtain the lead passing the 1100 metres and tired over the final 300 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from thumps. Trainer A Clarke was advised that the mare would require veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
Race 6: Iron jack Gladstone Cup Open Handicap 1608m
 
LEGAL PROCEDURE – Blundered on jumping and lost ground. Due to the slow tempo was allowed to stride forward and race four wide without cover passing the 1200 metres. Leaving the 800 metres commenced to weaken and from the 400 metres was eased out of the event before being retired from the event at the 200 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from severe tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmia and had bled from the right nostril which the veterinarian attributed to the heart trauma. The gelding was treated by the veterinarian prior to leaving the track. Trainer L Rowe was advised he would need to furnish the results of an ECG and a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
HE’S ALL HEART – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Approaching the 1200 metres when the pace slackened, commenced to over race and was obliged to shift three wide to avoid heels.
