WEATHER – FINE TRACK – GOOD 3 RAIL – IN TRUE POSITION

Race 1: AIR FIRST MAIDEN PLATE 1100m

HARD LOVE – Lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

EXITING HEIGHTS – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with the outside upright and bumping with another runner soon after. Jockey Ms. B Thomson reported that she had suffered a minor knee injury in the incident and declared herself fit to fulfil her remaining engagement.

TOFF ROCKS – Was bumped by another runner on jumping. Hung in badly for the majority. Shifted in abruptly near the 100m hampering NICK’S NIGHT OUT (S Kaya), which shifted in taking MAC ME MATE (M Abe) in onto the running of PLATINUM PULSE (J Felix) which was inconvenienced. Although Stewards were mindful of TOFF ROCK’s racing manners, they nonetheless advised Jockey S Wilson that a rider of his experience would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts sooner under similar circumstances and subsequently issued him with a reprimand. Trainer Mr. A Paterson was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.

WISTARI – Lost ground after becoming awkward passing the 800m.

PLATINUM PULSE – Made the 800m crossing awkwardly.

MAC ME MATE – Was inconvenienced near the 100m when taken in by another runner.

ROTH’N’BELL – Raced wide for the majority.

Race 2: TOP SKIPS QTIS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1100m

SEK LOSO – Slowly into stride.

LEIGHWAY - Slowly into stride.

THE BEE’S KNEES – Made the 800m crossing awkwardly. App. S Gittos accidentally dropped his whip passing the 400m. Raced wide for the majority.

VOLTAIC – Raced wide for the majority. Was inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.

Race 3: TUFF TYRES BATTLE OF THE BUSH QUALIFIER – OPEN PLATE 1100m

STANDFORD – Slowly away. Raced wide rounding the home turn.

GINGERSNAP – Made the 800m crossing awkwardly and shifted in abruptly soon after hampering another runner which was over-racing at the time. Shifted in abruptly again when in clear running approaching the winning post. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed that the mare had sustained lacerations to both hind legs in running.

TUSCAN FALLS – Jockey K Stone reported that the gelding was over-racing when having to be restrained from the heels of another runner near the 800m.

Race 4: STAR FM BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1360m

AS YAWOOD – Slowly away. Lost further ground when crowded between runners soon after the start.

JERRAZZ – Lost ground when placed in restricted room passing the 1200m. App. S Gittos reported that the mare was inclined to hang out in the middle stages.

CAPITANEAR – Was inclined to hang out passing the 800m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly sore in both forelegs. Trainer Mr. P Rowe was advised that a Veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding again being permitted to start in a race.

TIPSY ROCKET – Shifted out near the 100m inconveniencing a tiring runner. Jockey P Cullen was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

ZUMARI – Was giving ground when inconvenienced by another runner near the 100m.

BE WHY OH – Jockey Ms. C Jokic reported that the gelding was inclined to hang in throughout placing her at a disadvantage. Stewards advised Trainer Mr. T Rowe that BE WHY OH would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

Race 5: CAIRNS HARDWARE ROY MARSH MEMORIAL MM/FNQ U&C STAYERS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1800m

Jockey K Rockett who was unable to attend the race meeting due to injury was replaced by S Wilson as the rider of JORDAN.

I AM BRUSE - Jockey Ms. S Wiseman who was dislodged from the gelding during loading declared herself free of injury and fulfilled her engagement. Began awkwardly making contact with the outside upright. Some time after the event Jockey Wiseman reported that she was unwell suffering head and neck pain, and that she had also suffered a recurrence of the toe injury initially sustained at Mt Garnet on Saturday May 5th 2018. Jockey Wiseman was advised that a Medical Clearance would be required prior to resuming race riding.

BARWON – Slowly away.

GOLDEN DEPART – Had to be restrained when placed in restricted room passing the 1600m. Was unable to obtain clear running in the early part of the home straight.

SUPER MARIO – Had to restrained off heels passing the 1300m. Raced wide rounding the home turn.

ONE SUNDAY – Raced wide rounding the home turn.

CASHED UP BULLY - Raced wide rounding the home turn.

Stewards delayed the declaration of Correct Weight to enable Jockey Ms. C Jokic who rode 2nd placed CASHED UP BULLY to view footage of the concluding stages. After viewing the footage Ms. Jokic elected not to proceed with an objection against SUPER MARIO being placed 1st and Correct Weight was declared.
