Race 1:  HUGHENDEN HOTELS BENCH MARK 60 HANDICAP  800M
 
BORN TO FIRE - Slow to gather pace at start. Rider D. Sparks was cautioned in regards to his use of the whip prior to the 100 metres. 
 
WORLD OF PAIN – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
LEROY ROCKS - Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
CEDEE PRINCE – Post race veterinary examination revealed small laceration to left side of tongue.   
 
Race 2: HUGHENDEN TYRE CENTRE CLASS B HANDICAP. 800M
 
NITRO CITY – Late scratching at 12.20pm – No rider available. 
 
TOP DECISION – Late scratching at 1.48pm. Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reasons for the late arrival at the course of the engaged rider D. Edmonds. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered betting deductions of three cents in the win and three cents in the place on successful bets placed before that time.
 
FANCY POLO – Reared over backwards entering onto the track dislodging rider S. Gittos. A veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the off hind leg and was declared a late scratching at 2.27pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered betting deductions of three cents in the win and three cents in the place on successful bets. Trainer T. Parry was advised she must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the filly being permitted to race again and further that the filly must trial to the satisfaction of stewards for its Pre Race Behaviour. S. Gittos declared himself free of injury and was able to fulfil further engagements on the day.  
 
A’RICHBRUNETTE - Near the 500m shifted out abruptly despite efforts of its rider tightening PALM SPRINGS for room and causing that runner to be eased.
 
PALM SPRINGS tightened for room when runner to inside shifted out causing gelding to  be eased.
 
LORD WINDERMERE – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
AMAHERO  – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
DROPYOURBUNDALL – Compounded in the home straight.
 
Race 3: DR CATHY RETO CLASS 6 PLATE.  1000M
 
WICKED WIKI – Knuckled and made contact with another runner on jumping losing ground.  Raced wide rounding home turn.
 
DREAMWARD BOUND - Contacted with another runner on jumping. 
 
COHESION – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Raced wide rounding the home turn.    
 
 
Race 4: TELEMON DROUGHTMASTERS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200M
 
FINE FERGUS - Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
GOING GREY – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
SPLASH OUT - Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
FRENCH SONG – Raced below market expectations and finished tailed off. Rider J. Esser when questioned stated the mare was slow into stride and soon after was hit in the face by a clod of dirt which it resented. A veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Rider’s explanation was noted. 
 
Race 5: HUGHENDEN SPAR SUPERMARKET QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
 
ROCKET TO GOLD – Reluctant to load into the barriers.  Raced wide rounding the 700m turn and again rounding the home turn.
 
COOL CHAOS – Immediately before the start was officiated the gelding lunged forward making heavy contact with the gates. On returning to scale the horse had the presence of blood around the head area which stewards attributed to trauma to which it was treated for. Trainer K. Laffin was reprimanded in that he left the course inside the permitted time.   
 
OAKFIELD SUNSET – Tightened between runners soon after the start.  
 
VALENTINE ‘S DAY – Raced wide rounding the 700 metre and home turns.
 
THE FAB THREE – Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
NICCONI PASQUALE - Prior to the declaration of correct weight, rider advised he wished to view the photo finish.  On doing so he was satisfied with the Judge’s placings and correct weight was declared.
