GENERAL:
As jockey K. Rockett was to be over-weight and did not attend today’s meeting he was replaced as per Stewards summary. K. Rockett was fined the sum of $300.  
 
RACE 1: CHERYL LEE FLORIST MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M  
 
WISTARI – Declared a late scratching at 9.30am when no suitable rider was available.
 
KISEKI – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
GROHL – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
ABBA ORIGINAL – Bumped heavily at the start by another runner.
 
HOTEL HILLTOP – Tightened for room at the start. Raced wide rounding the home-turn.
 
FIRED UP FLYNN – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race.
 
LATE CALL – Bumped heavily with another runner shortly after the start.
 
RANGERZANE – Began awkwardly and shifted in inconveniencing runners to its inside.
 
TEXAS GAL – Had a tendency to hang in the early stages.  
 
Following further rain, the track rating was downgraded to a soft 6 following the running of this race.  
 
RACE 2: SPAR INNISFAIL QTIS CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1000M 
 
METAZOE – Due to a misunderstanding jockey S. Wilson was dually engaged and as such, he was replaced by jockey A. Holt. A. Holt was permitted to ride the mare 1kg over its allotted weight when no other rider was available. A. Holt was fined the sum $100. After being fractious during in its preliminary dislodged rider A. Holt who declared himself free of injury. The mare was examined at the barriers and was cleared to start.  
 
BOOK A FLIGHT – As the gelding had not started for some considerable time it was examined by the veterinary surgeon prior to its race and was cleared to start.  
 
STUDMAN – Slow to begin.
 
RAINING DOLLARS – Slow to begin. Steadied off heels near the 500m when inclined to lay in.    
 
PRINCESS SIDEREUS – Shifted out abruptly on jumping. Steadied when racing in restricted room near the 800m.
 
DIAGORAS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SECOND TIME AROUND – Suffered a massive bleeding attack and collapsed passing the winning post dislodging rider M. Kai. Jockey M. Kai was treated by the ambulance officers and then transported to Innisfail hospital for further observation.
 

RACE 3: CARANA HAIR & BEAUTY CLASS B H’CAP – 1200M 
 
HUNGRY HORSE – Broke through the front of barriers prior to the start before being quickly restrained, was subsequently examined by the veterinary surgeon and was cleared to start. Steadied off heels near 200m when laying out under pressure.
 
FLYING DUBAI – Slow to begin. Forced wider by another runner near the 400m.
 
CHEERS FOR AUSBRED – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
 
CENTENARIO – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
SUPERMETEOR – Trainer F. Wieland, was fined the sum of $100 in that he failed to declare a rider for the gelding by the prescribed time. Shifted out near the 400m forcing another runner wider. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.

CENTREHALF FORWARD – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
SHE’S A RINGO – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
RACE 4: GERALDTON GRAF X CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1200M 
 
I’M NOT SURE – Slow to begin.
 
FIZICALLY WICKED – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SNAKE FARLEY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.    
 
RACE 5: HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM ITC BENCHMARK 55 H'CAP – 1500M 
 
CASHED UP BULLY – Over-raced in the early stages of the race.
