Race 1: Hire A Building H’cap – 2150m
 
HARD EVIDENCE – Near the 500m had to be steadied from the heels of ROLLOVER NINE.
 
BLUE MONTE – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, jockey L. Cassidy stated that his intention was to lead and after do so travelled well until a point near the 600 where the gelding was under severe pressure and failed to respond to his riding. He added that as he had concerns that the gelding may have bled during the event, he elected not to continue to pressure his mount.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse was severely dehydrated.  Trainer T. McCarthy advised that the horse would now be spelled.
 
INTERVENTIONS – When afforded the opportunity to comment on the disappointing performance, apprentice S. Lacy stated that after obtaining the lead in the early stages the gelding overraced for a short distance leaving the 1500m, however then continued to race comfortably and, in her opinion, the gelding failed to run out the distance of today’s event.
 
ROLLOVER NONE – Apprentice Z. White reported at scale her mount overraced in the early stages and then approaching the winning post commenced to overrace and was obliged to shift out wider on the track before obtaining a position with cover near the 1400m.
 
 
Race 2: Ausco Modular F&M Class 1 H’cap - 1000m
 
AITHNE – Blundered at the start. Jockey M. Hellyer reported at scale his mount was disappointing, and could only add that the filly has had some respiratory issues in the past, which may have contributed to its poor performance.  Trainer Mr D. Vandyke reported to stewards that following the disappointing performance he would now have the filly undergo an endoscopic examination, the results of which he would furnish to the stewards before making any decision regarding its racing future. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant findings.  A swab sample was taken.
 
RAVEN’S WING – Laid out  rounding the home turn and for a short distance entering the home straight.  
 
HUSSON BOOTS – Forced wider on the track entering the home straight.

 
Race 3: Demountable CG&E Class 1 H’cap - 1000m  
 
PAROO RIVER – Shortly after the start was placed in restricted room inside of DR QUINCY, which shifted in and away from CAPTAIN THE WORLD.
 
HIDRIFTER – Leaving the 700m had to be steadied from the heels of TYCOON ROSSA, which was laying in despite the efforts of its rider. Then elected to restrain to obtain cover behind DR QUINCY.
 
 
Race 4: Stayover F&M Class 3 H’cap – 1200m
 
BOILING – Trainer D. Murray was fined $200 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.
 
No incidents.
 
 
Race 5: Marcelford Meats CG&E Class 3 H’cap – 1200m
 
PLAN RED – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
FALKIRK DRIVE – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race, then commenced to weaken from the 500m.
 
 
Race 6: Get Social @ Ipswichturfclub RQ Summer Prov. Series Heat BM 75 H’cap – 1350m
 
HELLAROO – Declared a late scratching at 7.50 am on veterinary advice.
 
No racing incidents.
 
 
 
Race 7: Book Now For ITC Cancer Council Fundraiser QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1350m
 
NORTHERN DRAGON – Began awkwardly and bumped APPRECIATED.  Overraced in the early stages when being restrained.
 
APPRECIATED – Bumped at the start.  Approaching the 100m was inconvenienced by NORTHERN DRAGON, which shifted out under pressure.  Over the concluding stages shifted in under pressure and bumped NORTHERN DRAGON on a number of occasions.
 
CYCLONE PATH – Slow to begin.
 
DAZZLED DIVA – Overraced in the early stages.  Steadied near the 800m. Approaching the 400m had to be steadied away from the heels of NORTHERN DRAGON,  shifted out when insufficiently clear.  Jockey L. Tilley was reprimanded. Near the 300m had to be steadied away from the heels of APPRECIATED, which shifted out abruptly.  Jockey W. Lee, rider of APPRECIATED, was severely reprimanded for this incident. Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
 
STRADA GRANDE -  Approaching the 800m when attempting to obtain cover, shifted in, tightening the running of COSMIC VIEW.  DAZZLED DIVA,  which was following, had to be steadied off the heels of STRADA GRANDE.  Near the 400m had to be steadied away from NORTHERN DRAGON, which shifted out abruptly. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.
 
COSMIC VIEW – Tightened nearing the 800m.
 
 
Race 8: Marcelford Meats Maiden Plate – 1350m
 
PENTAGRAM – Slow to begin.  Disappointed for a run approaching the 200m and obliged to alter course to obtain clear running.
 
MADAM MAHAL – Slow to begin.  Approaching the 200m had to be eased when tightened for room.
 
EVENING – Began awkwardly.
 
REACHER – Shifted out at the start and bumped RHODOPIS.
 
RHODOPIS – Bumped at the start. Raced wide.  Connections were advised that the mare, which tailed off, will incur a metropolitan bar from racing.
 
A BEAR IN THERE – Near the 1000m, after being crossed by  ODELIA shifted out abruptly, making contact with REACHER.  THE PONTSTER, which was racing to the outside  of REACHER, was hampered and forced wider on the track. Apprentice M. Murphy, rider of A BEAR IN THERE, was issued with a reprimand.
 
THE PONSTER -  Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
Race 9: Ipswich Hospital Foundation 15 Dec Class 6 Plate – 1000m
 
STAR STILETTO - Underwent a veterinary examination at the start at the request of the rider and was subsequently cleared to start.
 
RAIDO – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 10:  Book Xmas Luncheon 22 Dec Benchmark 75 H’cap – 1666m
 
GOULDIAN – Change of tactics – To be ridden further back in the field than it did at the Beaudesert meeting yesterday. The horse was ridden accordingly.
 
ANYMORE – Began awkwardly.  Had to be steadied after improving up onto the heels of COURAGEOUS ROCK.
 
THE EQUILIZER – Approaching the 1200m commenced to overrace for a short distance. Laid in for the majority of the home straight, proving difficult to ride out.  
 
ELSARAY -  Apprentice E. Ljung reported at scale that after riding her mount aggressively from the barriers her mount hen commenced to overrace in the early stages.
 
BEAUDACIOUS -  Jockey B. Grylls reported at scale she was disappointed with the performance, adding that it may not have appreciated the step up in distance of today’s race.
