Race 1: TAB BM60 H’cap – 1100m
STARANTE - Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay out over the final 100m and was steadied from heels approaching the winning post.
SERPENTI – Laid out under pressure leaving the 200m and again near the 100m, crowding another runner.
ANCIENT AZTEC – Shifted in slightly near the 100m, crowding another runner.
ACT OF BRAVERY – Was crowded for room near the 200m and again near the 100m when racing between horses that were shifting ground.
PRICKLES – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 2: Hawaiian XMAS Raceday Sat 21st Dec Class 6 Plate – 1100m
HEYINGTON – Delayed the start when proving difficult to load. Trainer R. Binder was advised that warning would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners. Slow to begin. Shifted out near the 250m, hampering another runner. Rider N. Thomas was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
DISTRICT – Overraced in the early stages.
THINKGODFORFRANC – Momentarily hampered near the 250m by another runner, which shifted out.
GRAFTY COP – When questioned regarding the disappoint performance, rider W D’avila stated that the horse never travelled comfortably throughout the race and failed to improve when placed under pressure and proved disappointing. Trainer W. Pomfrett stated that, in his opinion, the horse did not appreciate the firmness of today’s track, and gave an undertaking to advise stewards of anything that comes to his attention that may have had a bearing on today’s performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 3: Starcut Flowers QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1100m\x
MISS CLAIR - Shifted out on jumping, bumping with another runner. When questioned into the disappointing performance, rider L. Tilley stated he was at a loss to explain the filly’s performance today and that it never travelled at any stage of the event and was very disappointing. Trainer G. Green advised stewards he was very disappointed with the filly’s performance today as it had pleased him leading up to today’s event, also adding that it was the first time the horse had travelled away from its home track. Mr Green gave an undertaking to advise stewards should any matter come to his attention that may have had a bearing on today’s performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken.
JILTED GIRL – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
NOT LIABLE – Blundered on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
TIGER CAN – Laid out near the 450m when shifting away from the heels of a tiring runner, forcing another runner wider.
NOBODY BETTER – Forced wider by another runner near the 450m.
BETHIA – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
THE GIR IS WILD – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 4: Laser Clinics Australia Maiden Plate – 1300m
CAPTAIN TOM – Slow to begin.
FEATHER YOUR NEST - Slow to begin.
STARS DON’T RUST – Slow to begin.
DEEJAYBEAT – Tightened for room near the 1200m. Steadied near the 150m when racing in restricted room.
JARS – Tightened for room the 1200m, having to be steadied.
SHAKA DIAMOND – Tightened for room near the 1200m.
MIGHTY MEERKAT – Shifted in tightening runners near the 1200m, before being corrected to shift wider on the track and improve forward. Rider D. Graham was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
GALIAZZO – Shifted in, crowding runners to its inside near the 1200m before being corrected and shifting wider to improve forward. Rider A. Sewell was advised to show greater care when shifting ground.
LONGROADTOFLY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
CHANDON KISSES – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 5: IBIS Mackay BM55 H’cap – 1300m
HUTCHO – Slow to begin.
SKIFIELD – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously approaching the 1200m, and was then inconvenienced by another runner, which was over-racing, and lost ground when being steadied.
BOWIES BAYCONI – Slow to begin. Threw its head in the air when being restrained near the 1200m from the heels of another runner, which was over-racing and lost ground when being steadied.
EMBERSPEED – Slow to begin. Commenced to over-race approaching the 1200m and when being restrained lost ground, inconveniencing other runners that were following.
FAIRFACTS – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
GLOBAL ROCKET – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
REPERCHARGE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
EDITH MARGARET – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 6: Man About Menswear BM69 H’cap – 1800m
PROANE – Delayed the start slightly after breaking through the front of the barriers. Was quickly restrained, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
RUN HOFF RUN – Jumped outwards at the start, bumping another runner.
HOSTILE LILLY – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
OPTION – Slow to begin. Restrained off heels near the 1250m. Momentarily raced in restricted room near the 350m.
CASTA – Over-raced in the middle stages.
STONE WARRIOR – Raced wide for the majority of the raced.
