General: Due to a clerical error, Blinkers were not shown as being worn in the race-book for the following runners: Race 2 – MARKISTA, Race 3 – WALSHIE, Race 4 – LEGS UNBARRED
 
 
Race 1: BENCHMARK 45 HDCP 1000 Metres
 
MOWER – rider C Eaton was reprimanded under AR137(a) for allowing MOWER to shift in and tighten DUBLE MEANING and DRAGONMOSS when not fully clear near the 800 metres.
 
DUBLE MEANING – tightened and lost ground near the 800 metres.
 
DREAMS OF MINTO – laid in for some distance between the 600 metres and the entrance to the home straight resulting in VICIOUS CHICK being hampered. A post-race Vet examination of DREAMS OF MINTO failed to reveal any abnormality.
 
DRAGONMOSS – tightened and lost ground at the 800 metres.
 
VICIOUS CHICK – hampered between the 600 metres and home-turn.
 
 
Race 2: QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200 Metres
 
LETITRIPPOTATOCHIP – slow to begin. Raced wide for majority of the event.
 
QUATRO AMIGOS – obliged to steady from heels when the pace steadied near the 800 metres.
 
 
Race 3: CLASS 3 PLATE 1200 Metres
 
EMPEROR MAXIMILLIAN – hampered near 150 metres when taken out by THAT PRETTY GIRL.  
 
WALSHIE – checked near 800 metres.
 
HIGH CALL – checked near 800 metres. Inconvenienced near 150 metres when placed in restricted racing room.
 
VANCOUVER STAR – bumped near the 150 metres.
 
THAT PRETTY GIRL – rider V Venkaya pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137(a) in that near the 800 metres he permitted THAT PRETTY GIRL to shift in when insufficiently clear of HIGH CALL and WALSHIE both of which were obliged to be checked and lose their position. After considering the degree of interference suffered by both runners, his guilty plea and otherwise good race riding record, the licence of V Venkaya to ride in races was suspended from midnight 7th April up to and including midnight 18th April 2018.
Rider V Venkaya was reprimanded under AR137(a) for permitting THAT PRETTY GIRL to shift out under riding near the 150 metres resulting in EMPEROR MAXIMILLIAN being hampered and HIGH CALL being placed in restricted room and taken outwards bumping VANCOUVER STAR.
 

Race 4: BENCHMARK 65 HDCP 1400 Metres
 
AL’S BRIEFS – began awkwardly resulting in App H Phillips’ left foot making heavy contact with the outside barrier partition. Inclined to lay out in the home straight when placed under pressure.
 
OUR CLARKY – raced wide throughout the event. Bumped on a number of occasions in the home straight when AL’S BRIEF was inclined to lay out under pressure.
 
LEGS UNBARRED – after racing in a forward position weakened from the 400 metres. A post-race Vet examination revealed lameness in the near side fetlock. Trainer W Bannerot was advised LEGS UNBARRED would require a Vet certificate prior to its next race start.
 
 
 
Race 5: RATINGS BAND 0-50 HDCP 1400 Metres
 
LAKE ARGYLE – raced wide throughout.
LUCKY TICKET – rider reported at scale the gelding was inclined to lay out at various stages of the event. A post-race Vet examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormality.
SAIL THE STARS – rider N Fazackerley accidently dropped his whip near the 200 metres.
