GENERAL –
As K. Ballard was not riding at today’s meeting due to injury, substitutions were made as per Stewards Summary.
 
All horses engaged today which raced at Mount Isa on Thursday 9th August, 2018, were examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Race 4.  OAKFIELD SUNSET and DENLAGO.  Race 5.  DIURNAL TIGER and VIDEO SHOW           . 
 
Race 1 - MONTY O'SULLIVAN 42ND BT AIF MEMORIAL Class 6 Plate (1000 METRES)     
 
FINE FERFUS - As the start was effected the gelding reared and slipped falling to the ground and took no part in the race. Trainer T. Parry was advised the gelding is to successfully complete a barrier trial before again starting in a race. A Veterinary examination revealed no injuries.  
 
CHOI OI – Was fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Was examined by the veterinary surgeon and  cleared to start. Raced wide rounding the 800m turn. 
 
AMBITIOUS EX - Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
Race 2 -WJ & VM HARRINGTON & DAUGHTER ANNIE CORAL SEA MEMORIAL Benchmark 45 Handicap, (1000 METRES).  
 
HIDONAL - Slow to begin.
 
PURFLEET PRINCESS – Obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages. 
 
Race 3 - HUGHES EARTHMOVING Ratings Band 0 - 60 Handicap (1200 METRES).
 
SENSEOFWONDER – Was unable to be loaded into the barriers and was a late scratching at 3.07pm by order of Stewards.  Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on SENSEOFWONDER were to be refunded and all successful bets for the win to be paid less 12cents in the dollar on the face value of the ticket and all successful bets for the place to be paid less 14cents in the dollar on the face value of the ticket. Trainer K. Krogh was advised that the mare is to successfully complete a barrier trial before again starting in a race.  A Veterinary examination revealed minor laceration to right hip. 
 
No racing incidents.
 
Race 4 - LT COL HARRY MURRAY VICTORIA CROSS BenchMark 50 Handicap (1400 METRES
 
SLIPPERY SAGA – Late scratching at 11.50am as no rider was available. 
 
DENLAGO – Was penalized one and a half kilograms (to 57.5 kgs) following a win at Mt Isa on 9th August, 2018.  Raced wide from the 600m. 
 
GOING GREY – Raced wide from the 800m. 
 
WICKED INVESTMENT – Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
JACKOH - Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
KURAMOS - Raced widen rounding the home turn. 
 
Race 5 -  RI MCCLYMONT MEMORIAL OPEN Handicap (1400 METRES)   
 
WEATHERVANE - Slow into stride.
 
VIDEO SHOW - Slow into stride. 
 
ONEHUNDREDCLICKS - Jumped inwards tightening runner to its inside.
