BALMERRO, COOL DELIGHT and ALLGIRL were all slow to begin.

BOCEPHUS - Raced 3 wide without cover.

ALLGIRL - Near the 900 metres shifted in and became unbalanced. When questioned regarding his riding of the mare in the home straight Jockey B. El-Issa explained that he had ridden his mount along for some distance and was of the opinion that it was not handling the soft track conditions. He said that whilst riding it along in the straight he felt it was not responding to his use of the whip. Whilst he conceded that it made some ground over the concluding stages, he was of the view that it was only finishing off the race moderately and passing other tiring runners. Jockey El-Issa was advised that his riding had come under notice and he should ensure that he fully tests his mounts and leaves no room for query. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare did not reveal any abnormalities.

PULL NO PUNCHES - Following concerns expressed by trainer T. Cook, Jockey B. El-Issa was questioned regarding his tactics and his riding of the gelding. Jockey El-Issa said that prior to beginning his mount was fractious in the barriers and slipped back slightly.
