Race 1: Ray White Rural Gracemere Benchmark 70 Handicap - 1500 metres
1st GLACIER EXPRESS 2nd HOSTILE OWNERS 3rd CUMANI 4th - ABSOLUTELYANYTHING

EYE WINSOME - Slow to begin.

HOSTILE OWNERS - Slow to begin. Apprentice N. Vuille was fined $100 under A.R.137A for using her whip on the gelding on more than 5 occasions and on consecutive occasions prior to the 100 metres.

Race 2: Prime Properties Rockhampton Class 3 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st ZAHA EXPRESS 2nd ESPRIT LIGHT 3rd MT ZIGGARO 4th - KLISSTRA

DE MESTRE - Raced keenly for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had sustained a laceration to the off fore fetlock, however was not lame.

ZAHA EXPRESS - Lost near hind plate in running.

SAMARAH GIRL - Trainer Mr T. Cook advised stewards that he will now send the mare for a spell.

Race 3: Jet Dry Cleaners Maiden Handicap - 1200 metres
1st BOOMTOWN BOY 2nd PURE REVENGE 3rd MISS SATINE 4th - FEELIN' THE HEAT

ITHAKOS - The start was delayed initially when the gelding fell over prior to leaving the enclosure and required farrier attention. The gelding was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Near the 150 metres misstrode and blundered. When questioned, Jockey B. Stewart was of the opinion that the gelding may have attempted to change stride at this point. An immediate post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the trainer in relation to the horse's condition.

BOOMTOWN BOY- Stewards will inquire into the reasons the gelding led in today’s event.

FEELIN' THE HEAT - The start was further delayed when the gelding required farrier attention to both hind plates behind the barriers. Stewards will require trainer Z. Hohn to take action in regard to the plating on the gelding.

PURE REVENGE - Slow to begin.

LUCKY I MADE IT - Shifted out at the start.

THE CLANG AFFAIR - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

A track inspection in the vicinity of the 150 metres did not reveal any issues.

Race 4: NAB Agribusiness QTIS 3YO Handicap - 1050 metres
1st JAM TOAST 2nd LEGAL PROCEDURE 3rd NINETTE KAN 4th - SUPREME JET

SHROUDED - The start was delayed when the filly refused to load into the barriers. Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the filly at 3.41 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on SHROUDED be refunded and that the following deductions apply:

7¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, JAM TOAST
4¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, JAM TOAST
15¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, LEGAL PROCEDURE
25¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, NINETTE KAN

Trainer T. McMahon was advised that he must obtain a barrier certificate prior to the filly being permitted to race again.

LOVE A RAINY NIGHT - At the start jumped out onto SUPREME JET. Near the 600 metres hung out, taking SUPREME JET wider.

SUPREME JET - Bumped at the start. Taken wider near the 600 metres.

NINETTE KAN - From the 800 metres commenced to hang out, and near the 200 metres hung out severely, placing its rider at a disadvantage. In the incident LEGAL PROCEDURE was also taken wider. Trainer stated that he may add a tongue-tie to the filly's approved gear. Nevertheless, it will be required to barrier trial prior to its next start.

When a storm caused significant damage to the race day facilities and power outages, stewards abandoned the remainder of meeting at 4.15 p.m.
