Race 1: XXXX Gold QTIS 2YO Handicap - 1050 metres
1st BAUHINIA SID 2nd UNCANNY REASON 3rd PERSISTENT SHADOW 4th - CRAIGLEA ODYSSEY

DREAM WORLD - At the start shifted in, taking SIR TRUSTICE in onto OVERLOAD.

HALF NIP- At the start, tightened between OVERLOAD and BAUHINIA SID.

PERSISTENT SHADOW - Slow into stride. Raced wide with cover throughout.

CRAIGLEA ODYSSEY - Raced wide until the 650 metres.

SIR TRUSTICE - At the start taken in onto another runner. Raced wide without cover throughout.

UNCANNY REASON ¬ - Near the 400 metres shifted out and bumped BAUHINIA SID.

BAUHINIA SID - Bumped near the 400 metres.

Race 2: 2016 Racing Gala Ball - Sat 2 April - On Sale Now Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st DUFOUR 2nd SUPER TUSCAN 3rd SCATTERED SHOWERS 4th - CLEVER STRYK

MISS MALCHI - underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after having spent a considerable time away from racing and was cleared to take its place in the field.

CASINO PUSSY- Began awkwardly.

CLEVER STRYK - Jumped outwards at the start and hampered SCATTERED SHOWERS. Raced wide without cover and hung out in the middle stages.

DUFOUR - Shortly after start, became awkward and made contact with another runner.

CAUSING MAYHEM - Bumped at the start and hampered again shortly afterwards.

UPSEL - Hung out near the 900 metres and raced wide with cover.

NOTHING BUT FUN - Tightened at the start. App. Q. Krogh reported that his mount failed to stretch out in the early stages.

FLAMBOYANT MISS - Raced wide without cover and hung out from the 700 metres.

Race 3: Hahn 3.5 BM65 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st LEGAL PROCEDURE 2nd PULSAR 3rd SON OF A WARRIOR 4th - DELAGOS

PULSAR - When Jockey A. Butler was to be overweight, Jockey A. Spinks was substituted as rider of the gelding. Jockey Butler was fined $100 under A.R. 120(b). Held up for clear running from the 300 metres until near the 200 metres.

SAGACIOUS FLAME - Bounded in the air at the start.

SON OF A WARRIOR - Slipped and began awkwardly.

DELAGOS - Raced wide without cover throughout.

Jockey A. Spinks was reprimanded for using his whip on PULSAR on two occasions more than is permitted under the rules.

Race 4: 100 Club 2016 Season - Experience The Excitement Handicap - 1050 metres
1st - FAST FOCUS 2nd TESTASCANA 3rd KUAIMA - 4th - SMART PATROL

SCHOORWIN - Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Near the 400 metres brushed the running rail and became awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormalities.

TESTACANA - Was a little slow to begin.

MARINA SANDS - Hung out in the early stages.

CLOUD DANCER - Shifted in at the start and made contact with SHEPIKTUS.

SHEPIKTUS - Contacted by another runner at the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare to be tying up, which may have been attributable to it being in season. Horse was treated accordingly.

SMART PATROL - Raced wide without cover.


Race 5: Tooheys New BM70 Handicap - 1600 metres
1st MAMSELLE CORDAY 2nd RADIANT JOY 3rd HOSTILE OWNERS 4th - PREEN QUEEN

SLIM HENRY - On jumping, shifted in onto CLEANSING ALE, which was taken inwards and made contact with another runner.

GLORY CITY - Jockey J. P. Stanley reported that his mount was under pressure from the 600m and failed to respond to his riding. He said that from near the 100 metres he was concerned with the gelding's action when he placed it under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a suspected stone bruise to the near fore hoof.

HOSTILE OWNERS - When questioned regarding the performance App. N. Vuille stated that she was instructed to rider her mount as she had at its previous start that is to keep it clear of other runners and commence a run leaving the 700 metres. She added that over the 1600 metres the gelding felt flat today, however in the latter stages of the straight considered it made some ground. Trainer M. Attard said that he may give the horse a further start, however would consult with owner if the horse would now spell and undertook to advise stewards of his decision.

Race 6: XXXX Bitter BM55 Handicap - 1500 metres
1st - MURPHY’S COAL DUST 2nd - BARON REES 3rd - BOOMTOWN BOY 4th - THE CATHOLIC GIRL

GAS BURNER - Was a little slow to begin. Jockey Sheargold reported that his mount over-raced in the early stages.

THE CATHOLIC GIRL - Slipped behind at the start and lost ground. After doing so, the mare shifted in to take up a position midfield on the running rail.

RED RADA - Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the event and was inclined to lay in throughout. Near the 600 metres laid in and had to be steadied away from the heels of THE CATHOLIC GIRL.

TREMONT - Near the 400 metres made contact with PURE REVENGE, shifted in across the heels of RED RADA. At the same time, TREMONT and BARON REES attempted to take the same run, and BARON REES shifted out under riding and caused TREMONT to be steadied, App. Fawke was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

WOLF HUNTER- Raced wide with cover throughout.

App. S. Fawke was fined $200 under A.R. 137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 5 consecutive occasions prior to the 100 metres, and was fined a further $200 under A. R. 137A for using his whip on his mount prior to the 100 metres on 6 more occasions than is permitted under the rule.

Race 7: Callaghan Park Functions & Events Centre Class 2 Handicap - 1100 metres
1st - OUR SINGLE DOUBT 2nd - HAMILTON 3rd - OUTBACK SAGA 4th - USURPER


MISS HOFFA - Was a late scratching, at 8.35 a.m., when the trainer advised that the horse was not fit to race due to a possible allergic reaction.


TRICKY BOY - The start was delayed when the gelding reared and struck Jockey S. Sheargold in the face. As he was unable to fulfil this engagement. Stewards ordered the late scratching of the gelding at 5.04 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on TRICKY BOY be refunded and that the following deductions apply:

5¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, OUR SINGLE DOUBT
6¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, OUR SINGLE DOUBT
5¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, HAMILTON
5¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, OUTBACK SAGA

SPACE COMMANDER - Made contact with another runner at the start. Raced wide with cover throughout.

WAR NOISE - Contacted by another runner at the start.

PIPIT - Slow to begin.

OUTBACK SAGA - Raced wide without cover.

CHLORIDE - Raced wide with cover throughout.

Jockey A. Spinks, the rider of KLISSTRA, was fined $100 under A.R. 137A for using his whip on the mare prior to the 100 metres on 2 occasions more than is permitted under the rules.
