Late Riding Changes

As Jockey A. Allen was unable to fulfil his engagements due injury, substitutions were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. A medical certificate will be required prior to his next engagements.

Race 1: XXXX Gold F&M Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st ARQUATAS 2nd JUST ONE WISH 3rd STIRLING GIRL 4th - HOWZAT FOR LUCK

JUST ONE WISH - Began awkwardly. Lay in near the 200 metres.

GINA BALLERA - Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the filly was lame in the near fore fetlock. Trainer's representative was advised that a veterinary clearance must be furnished prior to the filly being permitted to race again.

STIRLING GIRL - Jockey D. Evans pleaded guilty to a charge under A.R. 137A 5(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on the filly prior to the 100 metres on 5 more occasions than is permitted under the rule. Jockey Evans was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on 30th April, 2016 until 7th May 2016 (7 days).

Race 2: Callaghan Park Functions & Event Centre Class 3 Plate - 1600 metres
1st MISTY MONTANA 2nd OUTBACK SAPPER 3rd MONSIEUR HUGHES 4th - ALLGIRL

ROCKCHESTA - Late scratching at 1.20 p.m., by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice that the gelding was sore across the back. Trainer S. Rundle was advised that he must furnish a veterinary clearance prior to the horse being permitted to race again.

MONSIEUR HUGHES - Slow to begin.

MISTY MONTANA - Jockey S. Sheargold was fined $200 under A.R. 145 for returning to scale more than half a kilogram more than his declared weight.

Race 3: Hahn 3.5 Maiden Handicap - 1400 metres
1st ITTY GITTY 2nd THAT'S WOODY 3rd FIRST PLAN 4th - JOHANTEE

I LOVE KANDE - Shifted out at the start and made contact with the hindquarters of DYNAMIC EMBRACE. Raced wide without cover throughout.

CRUNCH TIME- Raced wide without cover throughout.

TRIGGER LAD - Raced wide with cover throughout.

ITTY GITTY - Near the 1100 metres was steadied from the heels of FIRST PLAN. Approaching the 400 metres was held up and had difficultly obtaining clear running.

DYNAMIC EMBRACE- Made contact with the hindquarters of another runner at the start. Stewards inquired into the performance of DYNAMIC EMBRACE. Jockey Day said that he was instructed to take up a position at the rear of the field close to the running rail. He stated that after beginning fairly he was positioned worse than midfield when other runners improved to his inside, and he anticipated taking up a position midfield, to the outside of FIRST PLAN (Jockey S. Sheargold). However he was obliged to race 3 wide and was unable to obtain a position further back. A post-race veterinary examination of DYNAMIC EMBRACE revealed that the mare was showing a poor post-race recovery.

Race 4: Rockhampton Grammar School Sat 7 May QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap - 1400 metres
1st BROQUALO 2nd KING MAX 3rd CAPTAIN ADRIATIC 4th - THE GIRLS IN PARIS

CAREFILLY - Began awkwardly and lost some ground. Raced wide without cover throughout and in the straight was inclined to lay in.

KING MAX - Near the 800 metres improved onto the heels of BROQUALO (J. P. Stanley).

BROQUALO - Returned to the enclosure with blood present in its mouth and had cuts to each corner of its mouth.

Race 5: Lifestyle Expo 27-29 May Class 6 Plate - 1100 metres
1st OUTBACK SAGA 2nd WILDEBEAST 3rd OUTBACK LIGHTNING 4th - MAN OF DESTINY

Stewards permitted Jockey D. Hayse to replace Jockey C. McIver as the rider of GO DIGGER.

BASHAN - Slow into stride.

HUNCHA DUNCHA - Began awkwardly.

MAN OF DESTINY - Raced wide for the majority of the event.

OUR NEDDY BOY - Shifted out under pressure from the 350 metres.

OUTBACK LIGHTNING - Apprentice N. Summers was fined $300 under A.R. 137A for using her whip prior to the 100 metres on 2 more occasions than is permitted under the Rule. When assessing penalty stewards took into account Apprentice Summers' poor record in regard to the rule.

Race 6: Bacardi Martini Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st - OUR BOY HOUDINI 2nd- KIPLING 3rd- FLY ONCE MORE 4th - SOLO SOPRANO

CAVITATION - Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was lame in the off foreleg. Trainer D. Rideout will be advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to CAVITATION being permitted to race again.

MYSTIC LAD - Shifted out at the start. In the middle stages and in the straight was inclined to lay out.

REGGIE ROCKET- Hampered at the start when another runner jumped out.

SOLO SOPRANO - Jockey A. Lawrence was fined $100 under A.R. 137A for using his whip on the gelding on 1 more occasion than is permissible under the rule.
