Race 1: Calcutta Friday 24 June Tickets On Sale BM 70 Handicap - 1807 metres
1st STOP CRYING - 2nd ALAKRIS 3rd INKA DINKA DOO 4th - PERFECTLY ALIGNED
Stewards will investigate and inquire into the nomination, acceptance and scratching of TIP RAT and MACHO TYCOON at a later time and date.
STOP CRYING - Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
Race 2: Rockhampton City Moto 3% Finance Maiden Handicap - 1400 metres
1st TRIGGER LAD 2nd KHADIJA 3rd HEART OF A REBEL 4th - TICATIME
TRIGGER LAD - Began awkwardly and made contact with TICATIME, which jumped out. Held up for clear running from near the 350 metres until the 200 metres.
EIRE'S LEGACY - Commenced to lay out near the 1200 metres and continued to do so for the majority of the event.
WILDLING - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
LORD STARK - Raced wide without cover.
MONACO DREAM - Raced wide with cover.
TICATIME - Over the concluding stages raced in restricted room between runners and had to steady when both of those runners shifted ground.
Race 3: Savage Barker Backhouse QTIS 2YO Maiden Handicap - 1200 metres
1st - BOLD SHOT 2nd REDATAQ 3rd DOUMBEK 4th - UNO KATY
EL GRADINO and WICKED HUNDRED were late scratchings, at 8.20 a.m., when no riders were available.
MAGIC EIGHT BALL - As no suitable rider was available, stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the gelding at 1.03 p.m.
DOUMBEK - Began a little awkwardly, hung out in the middle stages and made contact with FLAT TO STACK on a number of occasions. A warning will be placed on the gelding's racing manners. Raced 3 wide with cover.
FLAT TO STACK - Bumped on a number of occasions in the middle stages. Raced wide without cover throughout.
Jockey S. Sheargold pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that near the 1100 metres he allowed RELNINO to shift in, taking CRAIGLEA MERCEDES inwards and causing AZIRAP (Jockey D. Evans) to be checked and lose its rightful running. Jockey Sheargold’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence at midnight on 25th June 2016, up to and including midnight on 6th July 2016. (11 days). In the incident UNO KATY (Apprentice N. Vuille) improved onto and had to be checked from the heels of AZIRAP.
RELNINO - A post-race veterinary examination revealed that it had a laceration to the near hind and had lost its near hind plate. In the home straight shifted ground and near the 200 metres FABULOUS CHILD (Apprentice N. Summers) had to ease from its heels.
NO FINER JET - Raced wide without cover throughout.
Prior to correct weight, Trainer J Wehlow viewed the photo finish print for 3rd. After doing so, he was satisfied as to the judge’s placings and correct weight was declared.
Race 4: Coopers Fashion QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap - 1100 metres
1st HIDDEN THUNDER 2nd CAREFILLY 3rd REDMIA 4th - SENORITA ROSITA
CAPELLA GIRL - Was fractious in the barriers and made heavy contact with the front barrier gate. The filly was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon, which revealed that the filly had blood present in its nose and mouth. Stewards ordered the late scratching of the filly at 2.30 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on CAPELLA GIRL be refunded and that the following deductions apply:
8¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, HIDDEN THUNDER
10¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, HIDDEN THUNDER
12¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, CAREFILLY
12¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, REDMIA.
Trainer A. O'Sullivan will be advised that he must provide a further barrier certificate prior to the filly racing again.
PSYCHO SAID SO - Fractious in the barriers and kicked the rear gate. In the middle stages commenced to over-race and raced ungenerously.
CAREFILLY - Slow to begin.
SENORITA ROSITA - Slow to begin. Laid out in the middle stages. At the 300 metres shifted out and bumped I'M AMBRYM.
TAKINGS - Held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight until near the 300 metres.
ELDIYM - Raced wide without cover throughout.
Prior to correct weight, Trainer J Pointon viewed the photo finish print for 1st. After doing so, he was satisfied as to the judge’s placings and correct weight was declared.
Race 5: Girls Grammar School Race Day BM 65 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st RECTIFIER 2nd ABOVE US 3rd BLOODED 4th - PHOTOBOMB
BLOODED, RECTIFIER and ABOVE US- Began awkwardly.
ABOVE US - Shortly after the start was restrained to take up a position at the rear of the field close to the running rail.
HIDDEN ROAD - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
Race 6: Rockhampton City Moto Class 1 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st- DUDOOMP 2nd - SAINTLY PRO 3rd- NO DOUTE BEN 4th - IDOL FACTOR
SCRATCHY - Knuckled at the start.
IMA GONSKI - Slow to begin.
NO DOUTE BEN - Near the 250 metres was momentarily held up and shifted out to obtain clear running.
