Race 1: JRT/CQ Capra’s Family Fun Day – Sun 24 June Class 3 Plate – 1600m
 
SICARIO – Slow into stride.  Rider A. Allen reported that his mount failed to travel and could not provide any explanation as to the reason for the performance.
 
CASTA – Hung out near the 400m.
 
TOBACCO ROAD – Jockey N. Day was fined $200 for use of his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m, and a further $100 for use of his whip in consecutive strides. In considering penalty, stewards took into account his good record regarding breaches of these rules.
 
Race 2: Michel’s Patisserie Allenstown QTIS 2YO Maiden H’cap – 1200m
 
BRAVE JEWEL – Over raced in the early stages and raced ungenerously near the 900m.
 
SERIOUS CRIME – Near the 900m over raced in restricted room and had to be eased.
 
TYCOON PLAYER – In the middle stages over raced and had to be restrained from the heels of BRAVE JEWEL.
 
CRAIGLEA ARION – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
CRAIGLEA TUNDRA – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
OUR TOP SHELF – Jockey T. Chambers was advised regarding the rules pertaining to whip use prior to the 100m.  Jockey Chambers was questioned regarding a run being available between STREAMLINER and SUJANI in the early stages of the straight.  She explained that the horse was reluctant to improve into the run, and prior to the 200 metres was obliged to shift out into clear running. Rider further stated that horse improved from this point when more room was available between runners.
 
Race 3: Donut King Stockland Maiden Handicap – 1200m
 
WEAR THE FOX HAT – Slow to begin and shifted out at the start.
 
A LITTLE BIT MORE – Began awkwardly. Near the 700m appeared to clip the heels of COLORADO RIVER and shifted inwards.
 
GAI OF THE GALAXY – Stood flatfooted and lost ground on jumping away.
 
BELSHAZZAR – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost ground.
 
IT’S DRY – Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
TORQUE – Laid out in the middle stages and was hampered when another runner shifted in near the 700m. Stewards will inquire into Jockey P Romeo weighing in in excess of 1/2kg over its allotted weight.
 
Race 4:  Rocky Cup Calcutta – Thursday 5 July Open H’cap – 1400m
 
MAMSELLE CORDAY – Hung out in the middle stages. Jockey S. Wiseman, rider of MACHO TYCOON, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that she failed to use sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting inwards near the 250 metres causing MAMSELLE CORDAY to be tightened, checked and lose its rightful running. Jockey Wiseman’s licence to ride in races was suspended from midnight, 24 June, up to 2 July, being a period of 8 days.  In assessing penalty, stewards took into account it was a low range incident, her guilty plea and good race riding record.
 
DECONSTRUCTED – When the start was effected turned its head to the nearside and when straightened was slow to begin. The gelding then bounded on jumping and threw its head in the air and lost ground.
 
HEROISM – Began awkwardly and raced wide with no cover throughout.
 
OUR NEDDY BOY – Jumped away awkwardly and was tightened between runners at the start.
 
ARENA SALON – Jockey A. Allen reported his mount laid in under pressure in the straight, and would benefit from the run.
 
FRIENDLY DRAGON – Jockey J. Stanley reported his mount was disappointing and, in his opinion, failed to run on in the straight.
 
MACHO TYCOON – Jockey S. Wiseman lost her whip near the 200m.
 
Race 5: Veuve Clicquot Enc – Rock Cup Winter Provincial Series BM70 H’cap – 1200m
 
UTHRED – Began awkwardly.
 
CYCLONE FUGITIVE – Raced wide with cover.
 
MEDIA VITA – Raced wide with cover.
 
ROCKY SUPREME – Raced wide with cover.
 
WITNESS – Raced wide without cover.
 
Race 6: XXXX Gold Class 1 H’cap – 1300m
 
I TRUST LAYLA – Declared a late scratching at 2.15 pm when no rider was available at or closer to the allotted weight.
 
FLYING FERO – Stewards permitted jockey N. Day to ride 1 kilogram overweight. Forced outwards near the 1100m and bumped, becoming unbalanced.
 
DOUBLE JAY GOLD – Stewards permitted jockey M. Barnham was permitted to ride 1 kilogram overweight. Slow to begin.
 
CROWN ME LUCKY – Bumped and became unbalanced, having to be eased from the heels of GOSSIAUX near the 1100m.
 
LITTLE HUNTER – Slow to begin.
 
POETIC HEART – Hung out in the early stages.
 
VAN WINKEL – Near the 1100m hung out, taking HAYYLER’S FELL out on to FLYING FERO, which made contact with CROWN ME LUCKY, causing  FLYING FERO and CROWN ME LUCKY to become unbalanced, and CROWN ME LUCKY to be eased from the heels of GOSSIAUX.
 
HAYYLER’S FELL – Forced outwards and bumped near the 1100m.
