Race 1: Garrard’s Horse and Hound BenchMark 60 Handicap 1800m
 
ROULETTE ROYAL – Raced in restricted room over the final 80m and went to the line without being fully tested.  When asked to explain the performance, jockey B. Pengelly stated that the gelding travelled well, however, in his opinion, was left flatfooted approaching the 400m when the pace quickened. He added the slow tempo in the early stages may have been detrimental to its chances.  Jockey Pengelly further stated the gelding finished the race off well, and, in his opinion, may be better suited at distances further than that of today’s event.
 
MAC’S METTLE – Laid in slightly over the final 150m.
 
PLAIN ‘N’ SIMPLE – Was caught 3 wide early without cover before obtaining cover passing the 1400m. Laid in passing the 150m causing its rider to stop riding and straighten.
 
 
Race 2: Hardcore Sands Class 4 Handicap 1050m
 
LUCKY CLOVER – Bumped heavily on jumping.
 
COLOSSEUM KING – Bumped heavily on jumping.
 
LOTA CREEK GOLD – Began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping heavily with DANGEROUS DESIRE.
 
DANGEROUS DESIRE – Began awkwardly and shifted out, bumping heavily with LOTA CREEK GOLD. Passing the 900m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of LOTA CREEK GOLD. 
 
SOUTHERN ALBATROSS – Was severely hampered on jumping and was checked, losing significant ground.
 
ANNIE’S OUIR HERO – Passing the 100m improved onto the heels of tiring runners and had to be steadied and shifedt out to obtain clear running.
 
 
Race 3: Central QLD Plasters Class 2 Handicap 1200m
 
ANA’S IDOL – Had a tendency to overrace when positioned outside the leader.
 
CASSAVANCE – Put its head down as the start was effected and lost ground. Approaching the 800m had to be steadied and shifted out to avoid heels.
 
BLAZERAY – Slow to begin.
 
RUFFY ROAD – After being caught 4 wide without cover in the early stages, obtained a position 3 wide with cover leaving the 900m.
 
HIMALAYAN SALT – Approaching the 800m was slightly inconvenienced and forced wider on the track by CASSAVANCE, which shifted out.
 
I TRUST LAYLA – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 4: Ray White Rockhampton City Maiden Handicap 1300m
 
The start of this race was delayed when broken gear on MADRA RUA had to be refitted behind the barriers.
 
TWIST EDGEROI – Declared a late scratching at 1.54 pm after stewards were contacted by trainer A. Stephens who advised the mare had sustained an injury whilst being loaded onto the float for transporting to the track.
 
MADRA RUA – Began awkwardly. Jockey S. Wiseman was reminded of her obligations regarding whip use. In taking no further action, stewards took into account the totality of whip use.
 
GROUP SESSION – Began awkwardly.
 
SILENTUS – Slow to begin. Jockey B. Pengelly was reminded of his obligations regarding whip use. In taking no further action, stewards took into account the totality of whip use.
 
RED RIPPA – Slow to muster speed in the early stages.
 
STARBEATS – Approaching the 400m was hampered by STRADIFY, which shifted out.
 
BONNCHELON – Passing the 400m was hampered by STARBEATS, which was taken out by STARBEATS, which was taken out by STRADIFY. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.  
 
STRADIFY – Had a tendency to hang out throughout and approaching the 400m laid out away from MADRA RUA, which shifted out to improve.  
 
MAYASWELL – Raced 3 wide without cover in the lead throughout.
 
BEL SANDS – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
PRESCRIPTION – Jockey P. Romeo was reminded of his obligations regarding whip use. In taking no further action, stewards took into account the totality of whip use.
 
 
Race 5: The Morning Bulletin QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap 1100m
 
DANSARA – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late declaration of rider for the horse.
 
MARWAY – Began awkwardly and bumped heavily with PAINTER’S REWARD and then overraced with cover in the early and middle stages.
 
STEELZ TIME – Bumped on jumping away.
 
PAINTER’S REWARD – Bumped heavily at the start. Raced 3 wide cover throughout.
 
MISS MANIBEL – Hung out passing the 900m.
 
AVVA COLDIE – Raced 4 wide with cover throughout.
 
BABY BOO – Raced 4 wide with cover throughout.
 
YES SAY US – Raced 3 wide with cover, and then hung in under pressure over the final 200m.
 
CHEEKY MILA – Over the final 100m when tiring, was bumped  by STEELZ TIME, which shifted out slightly, then a short distance later, laid in and became awkwardly placed at the heels of STEELZ TIME and clipped heels and blundered. When asked to explained the tactics adopted, jockey E. Smith  stated that after beginning moderately, as instructed she rode forward in an attempt to cross to the lead approaching the 900m however was unable to cross runners to her inside and then was caught 3 wide without cover. Stewards accepted her explanation.
 
Race 6: XXXX Gold Open Handicap 1050m
 
ELJAY ATOM – Reared slightly as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
FOUR EXCEL – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
Race 7: Callaghan Park Functions & Events Centre Ratings Band 0-55 Handicap 1400m 
 
BELORUM – Began awkwardly and then was held up for clear running from the 400m until approximately the 150m.  Then again over the final 50m raced in restricted room in the run to the finish line.
 
PROANE – Slow to begin.
 
HE’S ALL HEART – Slow to begin.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. Connections were advised that the gelding would now incur a 3 month bar from racing and must gallop 1000m in presence of Stewards prior to racing again.
 
FONDUE – Overraced in the early stages.
 
SCUTARI – Was held up for clear running from the 400m until the 200m.
 
ELLE THE MODEL – Laid in under pressure over the final 100m.
 
HULK HENRY – Hung out throughout the race.
 
LITTLE HUNTER – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
FUN FOR ME – Raced 3 wide with cover.
 
FREE DROP – Raced 3 wide without cover.
