Race 1: The Pumphouse/Davey Monsoon QTIS 3yo Class 1 HHcap
1400m

ZOFONIC DANCER Slow to begin.

PRINCESS SNOWY Held up rounding the home turn and was obliged to alter course near the 350m in an attempt to secure clear running and was unable to gain clear running until leaving the 200m.

TWO AMOR Stewards asked jockey R. Fradd to comment on the tactics adopted on the gelding.. He indicated that with the addition of blinkers first time to the horsees gear he had been instructed to attempt to take up a forward position, which he endeavoured to do so by riding aggressively from the barriers.. He indicated the horse did not have sufficient speed to cross ROCKY GAMBLE to his inside and as a result approaching the first turn he attempted to steady to trail that horse, however at the same time the pace of the race slackened and he was able to restrain the horse sufficiently to manoeuvre behind jockey Byrne as ZOFONIC DANCER had improved to his inside.. He then after leaving the 800m rode aggressively again in an attempt to cross to a position outside the lead.. However ROCKY GAMBLE was also ridden aggressively at this stage and as a result he was obliged to remain in a 3-wide position outside the lead.. He indicated to connections that the horse would appreciate a step up in distance where it may be able to cross to a forward position more easily in a race which has less early speed.

Race 2: The Pump House/Davey Class 2 HHcap 1000m

AMERICAN HERO Due to traffic delays, L. Tarrant replaced L. Rolls as the rider of the horse. Checked near the 800m.

ESSAKA The start of the race was delayed when the horse became fractious in the barriers. After undergoing an veterinary examination mare was cleared to start.. Was buffeted between runners near the 400m and as a result lost ground. Jockey D. Browne, rider of VALFIERNO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that he allowed his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of runners to his inside, that being ESSAKA, tightening the running of that horse and taking it in on to AMERICAN HERO, causing the riders of both ESSAKA and AMERICAN HERO to have to take hold and check their mounts approaching the 800m.. Jockey D. Browne was suspended from riding in races for a period of 9 days, to commence at midnight, 30 September and to expire at midnight, 9 October..  A post race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the off hind pastern.

STOLE THE SHOW Stood flatfooted as the start was effected and lost significant ground.

NORTHERN DIVINE When being restrained near the 700m shifted out, forcing another runner wider.

COLLARRS UP Forced wider near the 700m and raced wide without cover from that point onwards.

Race 3: The Davey Rainbank CG&E Maiden HHcap 1000m

SPLITLOCK Slow to begin and lost ground. Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

FAVULICIOUS Jumped away awkwardly. Buffeted near the 800m when racing in restricted room.

MJOLNIR Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide.

TIME TO REMEMBER Near the 900m was restrained to avoid heels when RETURN ON EQUITYY shifted in to obtain a position closer to the fence..  Apprentice M. McGillivray was reprimanded for shifting ground when not fully clear. Raced wide.

HILDISVINI Buffeted near the 800m when racing in restricted room.

MAGIC LAD Raced wide without cover.

Race 4: The Davey Pool Pump F&M Maiden HHcap 1000m

On return to scale a protest was lodged by P. Hammersley, rider of the 4th placegetter, BLONDE BY CHOICE , against HARD LOVE being declared 3rd, alleging interference over the final stages.. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the patrol video, stewards were satisfied that BLONDE BY CHOICE had established a position to the outside of HARD LOVE, which shifted out under pressure, causing BLONDE BY CHOICE to be hampered.. Stewards were satisfied that this interference was sufficient to uphold the objection and subsequently declared correct weight on the Judgees semaphored numbers of:: No. 8 COPYWRITERR   No. 12 SINGLE LASSS   No. 1 BLONDE BY CHOICEE    No. 6 HARD LOVE.

DANGER ANNIE Slow to begin.

BLONDE BY CHOICE Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

COPYWRITER Slow to begin.. Hung out rounding the home turn and under pressure in the home straight.

RUBESTAR Raced greenly and hung in under pressure in the home straight.

HONEST NATALIE Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Raced wide.

Race 5: The Davey Multi Stage CG&E Class 1 HHcap 1200m

MORION When apprentice A. Sewell attempted to secure cover in the early stages the gelding overraced and he was unable to do so and therefore rode forward to position outside the lead whilst 3 wide without cover passing the 500m.

PRESSWAY Stewards asked apprentice M. McGillivray to comment on his tactics and the overall performance of the horse.. He indicated after beginning well he took hold as he had been instructed to obtain a position behind the lead with cover.. He was happy with the position he obtained approaching the first turn and when MORION improved past his mount approaching the 600m he considered shifting to a position behind that runner, however he did not feel his mount was travelling well enough and he was also of the view he would obtain a run to the inside of that horse when rounding the home turn. He added the horse was under significant pressure approaching the 500m and after passing the 400m he was disappointed for a run to the inside of MORION and shifted back to the inside where he was able to secure clear running, however did become tightened for room over the concluding stages. He also added that his mount was reluctant to improve between runners in the home straight.

Race 6: The Davey/Pump House Partnership Class 3 Plate 1600m

HIGH AFRICAINE Slow to begin.

SHARP SPEEDO Near the 300m was obliged to alter course to secure clear running.

KULABA Apprentice S. Lacy reported thatt the gelding changed stride approaching the 600m and blundered, and from that point onwards didnnt feel comfortable in its action and weakened badly in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination indicated that the horse displayed signs of a respiratory infection.. Trainer J. Symons was advised that the horse must be scoped and a clear veterinary certificate provided prior to its next race start.

Race 7: The Pump House BenchMark 75 HHcap 1400m

BOLD AVENUE Fractious in the barriers and jumped away awkwardly.

TONI MAY Slow to begin..  After being placed in restricted room approaching the 500m was steadied and laid in under pressure in the home straight.. Jockey J. Byrne advised that his mount travelled well until asked for a response leaving the 600m and he felt the horse was disappointing from that point onwards when uncomfortable racing between runners and laid in in the home straight. He indicated that he felt the horse was looking for races over further distances and would take improvement from todayys event.  A post race veterinary failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

FUERZA Raced 3 wide without cover.
