RACE 1: AGL/MARK JOHNSTONE TPT/MCINNES WILSON MAIDEN PLATE - 800m
LA VOGLIA Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Jockey C. Bryen was reprimanded for his use of the whip more than five time prior to the 100m. Stewards took into consideration Jockey Bryenns previous good record in relation to this rule when assessing penalty.
AGUERO Slow to begin.
KAPACHINO MISS Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the inside.
COOL CHAOS Slow to begin and failed to muster early speed.
KELLETT Slow to begin.
MIZ NAZAR Slow to begin. Shifted in abruptly shortly after rounding the home turn.
RUBY RED GIFT Slow to begin. Raced wide rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
RACE 2: AWB/ST GEORGE MACHINERY/CROPLANDS/STATHAM CHEESMAN QTIS CLASS 2 HCP -- 1000m
TRUE JOY Upon returning to scale Jockey G. Geran reported that his mount failed to muster early speed and resented kick back throughout the early and middle stages. He added that when able to shift wider in the home straight the mare ran on strongly.
NOVARUPTA When questioned regarding the improved performance, Trainer C. Rogers stated that the mare was more suited to the longer distance of todayys event, compared to its most recent start and further, in her opinion a change of rider from an apprentice to a senior contributed to todays improved performance.
GOLOVKIN Jumped in the air at the start.
BOILING Began awkwardly and lost ground. Resented the kick back throughout. At the 300m, shifted to the outside of the heels of another runner to obtain clear running.
HIDDEN SEQUEL Raced wide without cover throughout.
REVERSE LOGIC Raced wide throughout the early and middle stages.
RACE 3: SURAT RSL SUB-BRANCH SURAT DIGGERS CUP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400m
BAY HERO Improved onto heels and had to be restrained at the 1200m.
PATCHE GIFT Began awkwardly.
SNAKE ATTACK Fractious in barriers. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
JORJAAS JET Raced wide throughout.
JEDDAAS GIRL Raced four wide without cover throughout.
BRADY NN ME Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.
RACE 4: FORMOSA FARMING/LIBERTY OIL/NAB/CONDON TREASURE CLASS B HANDICAP 1200m
TAVY NIGHTS Laid out onto heels at the 500m.
NIMIA Began awkwardly. Raced greenly throughout the early and middle stages. Bumped by another runner at the 100m.
SANJAY Hampered at the start. Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainers representative R. Macrae advised that the horsees most recent start at Cunnamulla was disappointing as it had worked well in preparation for the event. Mr Macrae added that following that event, the trainer applied Earmuffs and a Tongue-tie to the horsees gear, which he felt, was the major contributing factor to todays improved performance. Stewards noted Mr Macraees explanation.
ZOOMING Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Following the event Trainer E. Jonson reported that it had appeared that the gelding had sucked wind behind during the event, which in his opinion would have contributed to the geldinggs poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination confirmed Mr Jonsonns observation. Mr Jonson advised that in light of this finding he would now add a tail chain to the horses gear prior to its next start.
RACE 5: ADAMA/NEW ROYAL HOTEL/DONOGHUE FARMING OPEN HANDICAP 1200m
HOT VINNI Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages dictating the line of TAPESTRY VISION inwards. Apprentice N. Fazackerley was advised of his obligation to correct his mount when shifting ground.
