Correct weight was delayed to allow Apprentice E Smith (PIABLE 3rd place) to review the stewards patrol films to ascertain if she had grounds to lodge an objection. After doing so Apprentice Smith lodged an objection against IQELA (2nd place), alleging interference from the vicinity of the 400m to the finish. After hearing evidence and reviewing the patrol films it was ascertained that PIABLE was contacted and carried wider on the track in the vicinity of the 250m by IQELA which hung out despite the efforts of its rider. Bearing in mind the beaten margin of a nose and the interference, stewards upheld the protest and declared correct weight on the amended placings.
