As Apprentice E.Cass was not riding at today's meeting due to personal reasons, substitutions were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Stewards today adjourned an inquiry to a date and time to be fixed into the behaviour of thoroughbred owner Mr Darren Simmons behaviour demonstrated on course today.
 
Due to technical errors Blinkers did not appear in the Racebook for the following runners which were not gear changes: This was broadcast via public broadcast.
 
Race 4, CHIVADAHLII
Race 5, FLYING ONCE MORE, OOSTHUIZEN (Visor)  
 
 
 
 
 
 
RACE 1: TOWNSVILLE RSL FUNCTIONS CENTRE MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M
 
DAESY DANORO – Slow to begin.
 
ZULU TUK – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MAGIC GLOW – Delayed the start when it proved difficult to load into the barriers. Connections were advised that a warning will be placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Raced wide early.
 
 
OUR PREFERENCE – Became unbalanced near the 300m when compounding and lost ground. Finished tailed off. Trainer K. Keys was advised that the gelding's nomination will be refused for TAB meetings until it improves its form at country meetings.
 
WRITTEN IMAGE –Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
DIAGORAS–Raced 4 wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
RACE 2: TOWNSVILLE RSL CADETS KIDS CLUB CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1000M  
 
DUNNYS STAR – Slow to begin.
 
REVERENCE – Raced greenly for the majority of the race. Retsrained leaving the 800m when racing ungenerously. Inconveninced near the 700m and shifted wider. Trainer M. Preston will be advised a warning will be placed on the geldings racing manners.
 
THE BEE’S KNEES – Incovenienced near the 700m.      
 
Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reason SEEKTOWIN appeared to clip heels near the 700m, blundering and dislodging rider D. Hayes. 
As D. Hayse was transported to Townsville hospital for precausinary measures and unable to fulfil his further engagements, substitutions were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
RACE 3: TOWNSVILLE RSL TOWNSVILLE DOLLARS QTIS 3-Y-O H’CAP – 1400M
 
Due to delays of a replacement ambulance required due to an incident in the previous race the time of this race was rescedualed to start at 2.23pm.
 
SIMPLY MARVELOUS – Slow into stride.
 
MISTA BUSY – Slow to begin. Had difficulties obtaining clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.
 
CRAIGLEA GHETTO – Raced ungenerously in the early stages of the race.
 
ROYAL SCRIPT – Hung in near the 200m and was restrained from heels.
 
SHORT TERM – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
HELLUVA HOFFA – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. When quetsioned into the dissapointing performance rider D. Evans stated that after beginning  awkwardly the gelding never travelled comfortably throughout the race and in his opinion was disapointing. Trainer P. Burke advised Stewards that he experienced transportation difficulties in transit to the course which subsequently in his opinion may have unsettled the horses preperation for todays event and would monitor the horses preperation going forward and  advise Stewards should anything further come to his attention in the coming days that may have had a bearing on todays performance.  
 
RACE 4: TOWNSVILLE RSL ROYAL REWARDS WEIGHT FOR AGE – 2000M
 
CHIVADAHLII – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages of the race.
 
HOT SAGA – Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the poor   performance, trainer F. Wieland stated that in his opinion the gelding was not suited by the pace of race and as a backmarker is better suited with a more solid pace.
 
GLAMORGAN BABE – Over-raced in the early stages of the race.
 
OLD SMOKEY – Raced wide in the early stages of the race.
 
GO BY RIO – Raced ungenerously near the 1400m and threw its head in the air. Improved onto heels near the 1200m and was steadied.
 
MAJOR MAJOR – Shifted wider leaving the 1000m and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
FRENCH HUSSLER – When questioned into the disapointing performance rider N. Summers stated the gelding was not suited by the pace of the race and overaced in the early stages and never travelled comfortably throughout the race. Trainer J. Wiggington agreed with N. Summers assesment however was of the opinion that in hindesight may have been a better option to allow the horse to improve forward. Mr Wiggington gave an undertaking to advise Stewards should anything further come to his attention in the coming days that may have had a bearing on todays performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.        
 
 
 
 
RACE 5: TOWNSVILLE RSL LAVARACKS RESTAURANT BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1400M
 
BETTER FUTURE – Slow to begin. Difficulties obtaining clear running in the home staright. When attempting a narrow run between BRAVE BOW (D. Simmons) and OOSTHUIZEN (N. Day) which shifted in slightly approaching the winning post, commenced to lay in inconveniencing BRAVE BOW and was corrected, goint to the line without being fully tested.
 
BRAVE BOW – Inconvenienced approaching the winning post and was restrained.
 
TWO FOR ROAD – Slow into stride.
 
WHITEHOUSE AFFAIR – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages of the race. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SEK LOSO – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping another runner.
 
THE LYNCHES – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
OLSSON – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race.  
 
RACE 6: TOWNSVILLE RSL GARRISONS RESTAURANT OPEN  H’CAP – 1200M
 
RIVARIVA – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
NEVETUS – Beagn awkwardly and lost ground.
 
I’LL TAKE THE JAG – Shifted in on jumping bumping another runner.
 
VO TREASURE – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majoority of the race.
 
LADY SIOUX – Laid in near the 100m bumping another runner. Tightened for room near the 50m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
POWER SUPPLY – Bumped near the 100m. Tightened for room near the 50m.  
 
CASINO THOUGHTS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Shifted out under pressure near the 50m inconveniencing other runners. Rider N. Day was reprimanded.
 
TYZONE – Laid in under pressure appraoching the 50m inconveniencing other runners. Rider S. Wilson was reprimanded.
 
PRINCELY – Unable to obtain clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
CANNY AND THE JET – Raced wide in the early stages of the race. 
 
RACE 7: TOWNSVILLE RSL QTIS 2YO CLASSIC – 1200M 
 
SPECIAL STYLE – Slow to begin.
 
MOLONGLE FIRE – Began awkwardly.
 
NASTY GAL – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Tightened for room shortly after the start and steadied. Rider W. D’Avila dropped his whip leaving the 200m.   
 
 
SAMBA RIO – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Tightened for room shortly after the start and steadied
 
LOST CONNECTIONS – Began awkwardly and shifted out crowding runners. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
DREAM KISSES – Began awkwardly and shifted in crowding runners. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
ALL GIRLS ROCK – Slow into stride and trailed the field throughout.  
 
Stewards inquired into an incident near the 1000m into the reason why ROSE CLIP (B. Thomson) and GREY MISSILE (S. Wilson) were checked.
 
Afer hearing evidence from B. Thomson (ROSE CLIP), S. Wilson (GREY MISSILE), D. Simmons (CRAIGLEA NIKITA), M. Barnham (LOTA CREEK GOLD), N. Day (PARADIS IMPERIAL) and A. Coome (ALLROUND GLORY) and viewing of the official race film, it was established that PARADIS IMPERIAL hung in despite the efforts of its rider causing LOTA CREEK GOLD, which initially shifted in and away from that runner to shift inwards tightening CRAIGLEA NIKITA which inturn shifted in tightening the running of ROSE CLIP which had to be checked and in doing so shifted in placing GREY MISSILE in restricted room on the heels of MOLONGLE FIRE and also having to be checked. ROSE CLIP lost ground in this incident. As Stewards deemed no one rider responsible for this incident no direct action was taken against any rider. Trainer T. McMahon was advised a warning would be placed against the racing manners of PARADIS IMPERIAL.
