ALLROUND GLORY – When questioned into the seemingly disappointing performance, rider A. Holt stated the gelding had to work hard from the wide gate and was unable to clear runners to its inside, which resulted in the horse racing 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race, however he was of the opinion it never felt comfortable throughout the event.  Trainer L. Wright  stated that, in his opinion, the horse having to race wide early and today’s heavy impost of 61 kilograms were telling factors in the horse’s performance.  A post-race veterinary examination of ALLROUND GLORY revealed the horse to have a slow post-race recovery as the veterinarian was of opinion the gelding may have got its tongue over the bit. Trainer L. Wright advised stewards it is now his intention to experiment with further gear changes before the horse’s next start.

Jokic, starter Mr P. Warren and rider N. Day, and giving consideration under AR134A, stewards could not be satisfied that this incident had any material effect on the horse’s finishing position, and as such declared DONAVIA a starter.
