BETTER FUTURE – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Rider D. Edmonds was questioned regarding the tactics he adopted on the gelding today, in particular, why he elected to sit wide when there may have been an opportunity to obtain a position closer to the rail. Jockey Edmonds stated that he was attempting to take a position behind PHANTOM SOX in the middle stages, however when the pace slackened, BETTER FUTURE then commenced to race strongly and was not suited by the pace of the race and as such he elected to give the horse galloping room instead of restraining his mount. His explanation was noted.
