Race 1: NEXUS EASTERN MAIDEN H’CAP – 1310M
 
BIANCATAK – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
RAW DEAL – Dipped shortly after the start.
 
FATA MORGANA – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained for a short distance near the 1200m.  Steadied when placed in restricted room near the 800m by BENICSTRESS which shifted out whilst hanging.
 
GENERAL’S DAUGHTER – Began awkwardly.  A post-race veterinary examination of the mare, which tailed off, failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Trainer P. Kalinowski advised that in the light of today’s poor performance, it is now her intention for the mare to leave her stable.  Trainer  Kalinowski was nevertheless advised that should the horse race again, it will not be permitted to compete at TAB meetings until such time as its country form improves. 
 
BENICSTRESS – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
MISS ARKWRIGHT – Raced keenly in the early stages.  On return to scale, apprentice R. Ride reported that it was not her intention to lead in today’s event as, in her opinion, the mare performs best when able to be ridden with cover, however as a result of racing keenly in the early stages she was forced to lead.  Stewards noted the explanation.
 
HAVEN DUKE – Steadied from the heels of another runner and shifted wider on the track near the 900m.
 
Race 2: NEXUS CENTRAL QTIS 2YO FILLIES MAIDEN PLATE – 1210M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed slightly to enable jockey B. Derbyshire, the rider of the 2nd placegetter  to view the Stewards' patrol footage to ascertain whether she had grounds to lodge an objection against 1st placegetter DELANEY’S DESIRE.  After viewing the film, jockey Derbyshire indicated that she did not wish to proceed, and correct weight was declared on the judge’s semaphored numbers.
 
CATCHULATA – On return to scale, jockey J. Orman reported that his mount hung out throughout the event.
 
CHAMISE – On return to scale, apprentice A. Sewell reported that his mount raced greenly throughout the event.
 
COOLMUNDA – Steadied to avoid the heels of another runner at the 200m.
 
DELANEY’S DESIRE – Laid in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
GOODBYE BEVERLEY – As apprentice J. Hodge was indisposed due to illness, apprentice R. Goldsbury was substituted as rider.  Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
PLAY THING – Declared a late scratching at 11.15am on veterinary advice after being injured in the float when being transported to the course. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to its next race start.
 
PRINCESS CAVALLO – Raced greenly in the early stages and raced wide from the 700m.
 
Race 3: NEXUS WESTERN MAIDEN H’CAP – 1000M
 
THE SHOWMAN – Tightened for room at the start and as a result settled further back in the field than anticipated.  Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CHARLIE’S DUST – Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
 
SQUEAK’S BOY – Bumped heavily shortly after the start.  Raced wide and raced greenly throughout the event. 
 
HUGHSTAAD – Slow to begin.
 
LIBERTY JANE – Tightened for room at the start.
 
NATURAL TREASURE – Began awkwardly.  On return to scale, apprentice M. McGillivray reported that the horse felt awkward in its action.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Following the running of this race, jockey Brad Appo became ill and was subsequently transported to hospital by ambulance.
 
Race 4: JOE WAGNER GROUP CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1210M
 
JUST AS LOYAL – Slow to begin.
 
CAN HE RAP – Forced wider on the track by another runner passing the 800m.
 
Race 5: HANNAS CLASS 3 PLATE – 2170M
 
DESTINY’S DESIRE – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
MCGILL – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
SLALOM – Placed in restricted room shortly after the start.
 
MOSS GO NOW – Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
 
HESSIAN – Steadied to avoid the heels of another runner shortly after the start.
 
OUR BOY BOLT – Bumped at the start.
 
Race 6: COLD ROCK ICE-CREAMERY ROADS TO ROMA QUALIFIER BM70 H’CAP – 1650M
 
STORM MAGIC – Buffeted between runners approaching the 400m.
 
UNIQUE MISTIQUE – Raced in restricted room for a short distance and was steadied passing the 200m.
 
KING LUDWIG – Jockey C. Eaton accidentally dropped the whip near the 50m.
 
CHIEF JOSEPH – Trainer K. Kemp was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.  Steadied from heels at the 600m.
 
TRUMP IT – Slow to begin.  Steadied from heels shortly after the start, and resented being restrained in the early stages.  Forced wider on the track by another runner passing the 800m.
 
TEXT BOOK – Bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced near the 400m.
 
Race 7: NEXUS DELIVERY CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1050M
 
SOLTINHO LAD – Placed in restricted room and lost ground near the 150m when FREEZEN EASY shifted in whilst laying in, despite the efforts of its rider.  The gelding was accidentally struck on the head by the whip of another rider near the 150m.
 
TARNHELM – Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground.
 
ARGYLL BAY – Eased over the concluding stages when racing between NEWCASTLE DANCER and FREEZEN EASY, both of which shifted ground.
 
SCRIPTS – On return to scale, apprentice R. Ride reported that the filly hung out throughout the event.
 
TOECANARGIE MAN – Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
 
HIDDEN SEQUEL – On return to scale, apprentice M. Schrapel reported that his saddle shifted to the offside on jumping away which placed him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.  Raced wide throughout.
 
FREEZEN EASY – Raced wide throughout the event.  Hung in and proved difficult to ride out in the home straight.
 
Race 8: SUNSET SUPERBOWL CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1210M
 
NARANJA – Laid in from the 400m and proved difficult to ride out.
 
RULER’S PRIDE – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground and, as a result, settled further back in the field than anticipated.  Overraced in the early stages and raced wide without cover throughout.
 
MICKEY DAZZLER – On return to scale, jockey J. Taylor expressed some disappointment in the gelding’s performance and he advised that, in his opinion, the horse would be better suited on a firmer racing surface than today’s event.
 
GULLY GOSH – Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground.  Disappointed for a run near the 150m.
 
PARMELIA – As jockey Brad Appo was indisposed due to illness following Race 3 today, jockey N. Tomizawa was substituted as rider.  Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
I AM THE WARRIOR – Raced wide throughout.  Steadied near the 400m.
