RACE 1: GRAIN TRADERS/LOCAL BUSINESS HOUSES MAIDEN PLATE – 825m
 
The start of the event was delayed until 1:45pm due to the ambulance being late on course.
 
LOWER – Fractious in barriers.
 
DAISY PEARL - Began awkwardly.
 
BRONZE BRONCO – Slow to begin. Slow into stride taking no competitive part in the event. In light of today’s performance, Stewards advised Trainer J. Hanna that the horse would require a further barrier trial to Stewards satisfaction prior to the horse racing again.
 
BRAYD HEART – Upon returning to scale Jockey C. Eaton reported that her mount was inclined to hang out throughout the event.
 
EXCEEDINGLY KOSMO – Refused to load. Declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 1:44pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in EXCEEDINGLY KOSMO be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
11 cents in the dollar for the win - #7
15 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #7
10  cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #4
16  cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - # 2
 
Trainer G. Arnold was advised the horse would require a further barrier certificate prior to starting again.

I’M FAVULOUS – Raced ungenerously throughout causing its rider to become unbalanced on a number of occasions.
 
THE INTERN – Raced wide with cover throughout the middle stages.
