Slow into stride. Near 350m improved onto the heels of ELTIZAAM, which shifted in slightly. Rider questioned re performance - stated instructions were to settle in the second half of the field. Stated near 800m when speed of the race increased gelding left flatfooted and failed to respond to his riding as expected. Further stated whilst gelding finished off reasonably well he thought the performance was one paced.
