Steward Comment

When asked to comment on the horse’s performance, M. McGillivray explained that the gelding travelled well and when he placed it under pressure soon after straightening it did not quicken as he expected and was disappointing.

Steward Comment

Raced three wide without cover throughout. L. Tilley reported that his mount never travelled comfortable throughout and, although it raced three wide, weakened in the home straight and in his view has come to the end of its current preparation. The veterinary surgeon reported that the filly was severely heat stressed after the race.

Steward Comment

Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the horse’s disappointing performance, apprentice C. Bayliss explained that the gelding never travelled comfortably throughout and in his view it has come to the end of its current preparation. Trainer G. Moore could offer no explanation for the horse’s performance other than he believed it was not suited by today’s track conditions. Mr Moore undertook to notify stewards should anything become apparent in ensuing days that may have had an effect on the performance. Vetted post-race, no significant findings.
