Stewards inquired into this incident and Apprentice B Nothdurft was subsequently found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR 131 (a), in that after passing the 300m, when riding JERRY ZANDA along, directed that gelding out to obtain clear running and in doing so tightened the running of THORBEN causing the rider of that horse to restrain his mount and lose ground. Apprentice Nothdurft’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 5 June and to conclude 15 June.
