On return to scale, jockey J. Oliver reported that his mount travelled well throughout, in what he felt was an advantageous position, however when placed under pressure from passing the 500m the mare failed to respond to his riding as he had anticipated, and ran on only fairly in the home straight. He added that, in his opinion, the mare may not have backed up from its recent trip to Rockhampton where it was successful.
