Bumped on jumping. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
Failed to muster speed in the early stages. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Secured a run to the inside of GHABBIE passing the 150m. When questioned by Stewards regarding the performance, jockey M. Cahill advised that after SERRATALLI was unable to muster early speed, he had some difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight, however once the filly was afforded clear running, it ran on well. He added that, in his opinion, the filly would improve with the experience, and would be better suited over further distances.
Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
Began awkwardly and shifted in.
Trainer N. Hocking advised that it would be the intention for Apprentice M. Kennedy to limit the use of her whip on the filly.
After being advised by trainer S. Dwyer that the gelding had some swelling on its off side rump, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. After racing in a forward position, CROSBY ROAD failed to respond when asked for an effort passing the 400m, and proved disappointing over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no apparent abnormalities other than that the horse was exhibiting a poor post-race recovery.
Raced greenly in the home straight.
Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
