  6. Julia Creek Cup Raceday

Julia Creek Cup Raceday

It’s dirty and it’s dusty, which is why they are famous for the annual Julia Creek Dirt and Dust festival in April which gets the whole place dirty and, well, dusty. Julia Creek is known as the “gateway to the Gulf”.

When they aren’t going hard over a four-day Easter fest, the town host local races at the Julia Creek Turf Club. With all the country favourites out to win as well as the fierce fashions on the field competition, the Bookies get busy – bush racing is alive and stronger than ever!

“Julia Creek is the sort of town where nothing is out of place …” (www.dirtndust.com)

Julia Creek is in the regional area of McKinlay and is 3 hours from Mount Isa, 7 hours from Townsville or 17 hours from Brisbane, by road!

Join in all the fun of country racing at the Julia Creek Turf Club!
