The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – 5th Grade Heat 1 520m

VICTORY PRINCE was best to begin with DOUBLE STORM slowly away.  Soon after the start SILKY OAK checked off the heels of TWEED CHIC.  Entering the turn out of the home straight KAWASAKI NINJA, TWEED CHIC and POCAHONTAS collided forcing POCAHONTAS wide on the turn.  In the turn into the back straight KAWASAKI NINJA was wide.  In the home straight VICTORY PRINCE was wide.

 

Race 2 – 5th Grade Heat 2 520m

SHANIA SIND and THIS TIME REBA were best to begin with FEMME JOLIE slowly away.  Soon after the start SMASHNIAK GOLD checked off the heels of GEORGINA.  Entering the turn out of the home straight EBONY STING checked off the heels of SHANIA SIND.  Entering the back straight QUEENIES BEST and WHATA NICE SIZE were racing tight and bumping.  In the back straight THIS TIME REBA was wide.  In the home straight SHANIA SIND was wide.

 

The greyhound EBONY STING was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – Winter Chase Heat 1 710m

KILLARA was best to begin with the remainder evenly away.  Entering the turn into the home straight on the 1st occasion STELLA NIGHTS and TUAVASA SHEK collided.  On the turn out of the home straight in the back straight STARGATE SYSTEM was wide.  Entering the home straight LATE ANGEL LEE and STARGATE SYSTEM collided who in turn checked STELLA NIGHTS.

 

Race 4 – Winter Chase Heat 2 710m

HOUGENIE and PHANTOM REIGN were best to begin with ELEAZAR and SANDAVE SAPPHIRE slowly away.  Approaching the 600m boxes on the 1st occasion MR. BRAND and ELEAZAR collided causing ELEAZAR to drop back.  In the home straight on the 1st occasion HOUGENIE was wide.  In the back straight ADA MARY was wide.  On the top turn PHANTOM REIGN and MR. BRAND collided.  In the home straight ELEAZAR and HOUGENIE were wide.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade Heat 3 520m

WILDASH WARRIOR and TITAN ASH were best to begin with NO CALLARATAH slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight on the 1st occasion INDIANA RUMBLE and CHEVALEIR NUIT were racing tight and bumping.  In the back straight CHEEKY FREYER was wide.  On the top turn and home straight INDIANA RUMBLE was wide.

 

Race 6 – 3/4th Grade 520m

SHERIDON was best to begin with FROSTY JAY JAY and SPANISH QUEEN slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight LINE UP BUOYS and FROSTY JAY JAY collided.  On the turn out of the home straight CLASSY HAZE checked off the heels of LINE UP BUOYS.  Entering the back straight LINE UP BUOYS checked off the heels of SPANISH QUEEN.  In the back straight YOGI BLUE was wide.  In the home straight FROSTY JAY JAY was wide.

 

The greyhound FROSTY JAY JAY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – 4/5th Grade 600m

SPRING BONANZA and KIDATEE CROC were best to begin with KNAVE was slowly away.  Entering the home straight NOT THE ONE checked off the heels of RENATUS causing NOT THE ONE and IVA VISION to collide forcing IVA VISION very wide in the home straight.  Also in the home straight KNAVE and OXLEY RUBEY collided.  On the turn out of the home straight NOT THE ONE checked off the heels of IVA VISION.  Approaching the 600m boxes IVA VISION checked off the heels of OKAY YETTA.  In the home straight NOT THE ONE was wide.

 

The greyhound NOT THE ONE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound IVA VISION was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – Best 8 520m

LADY ABIGAIL and ROSE OF GALO were best to begin with BILL’S FANTASY slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight KEYBOW checked off the heels of GRAND ROMAN.  On the turn out of the home straight GRAND ROMAN and ELUSIVE DESIRE collided.  Entering the back straight CYNDIE’S SPECIAL checked off the heels of ROSE OF GALO.  In the home straight ROSE OF GALO was wide.

 

The greyhound KEYBOW was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards questioned the trainer and he stated the greyhound had not been out of these boxes for awhile and was disappointed in the run.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade Heat 4 520m

THUNDER EYES and CELTIC DANCER were best to begin with CYCLONE CLIFFORD slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight CYCLONE CLIFFORD and BURWANA collided.  Entering the back straight KNOCKER raced very wide.  In the back straight THUNDER EYES and CYNDIE’S MAGIC were racing tight and bumping with CELTIC DANCER tailing off.  In the home straight SLAYER RETURN was wide.

 

The greyhound KNOCKER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound CELTIC DANCER was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade Heat 5

CERVELO was best to begin with GEARS OF WAR slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight MAGICAL DUST and BLESSED RUMBLE collided.  In the back straight MPINGO and MAGICAL DUST were wide.  Entering the top turn BLESSED RUMBLE checked off the heels of GEARS OF WAR causing BLESSED RUMBLE to drop back.  In the home straight KNIGHTS TEMPLAR was wide.
