The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound IRISIZE performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.12.

 

The greyhound SHOW BOUND performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 395m in a time of 22.68.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 520m

RADLEY’S JACKPOT was best to begin with SUNNYSIDE JAY slow.  Shortly after the start ENDLESS SHADOW and WANDACETTE came together.  Approaching the 1st turn ENDLESS SHADOW was tightened between CLAYBRO NINJA and FLASHING FEAR with all greyhounds becoming unbalanced.  As a result WANDACETTE was forced wide through the 1st turn.  Entering the back straight ENDLESS SHADOW improved onto the heels of DOOLEY’S FIT and was hampered.  Through the top turn SUNNYSIDE JAY shifted out off the heels of RADLEY’S JACKPOT.  Shortly after, CLAYBRO NINJA shifted out off the heels of FLASHING FEAR.

 

The greyhound WANDACETTE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Final 520m

DOOLEY’S HOBO was best to begin with VELOCITY TINA slow.  Shortly after the start VELOCITY TINA shifted in off the heels of FAST AS.  Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion FAST AS shifted in tightening VELOCITY TINA which lost ground.  OCCY CUT BACK and SANRICO WENDY were tight entering the 1st turn.  Through the 1st turn HOBO JANE and FAST AS collided.  Entering the back straight HOBO JANE shifted in hampering VELOCITY TINA.  OCCY CUT BACK was wide through the back straight.  SANRICO WENDY and BONTEMPELLI were tight entering the home straight.  Over the concluding stages HOBO JANE and VELOCITY TINA came together.

 

Race 3 – Novice 520m

EARLY SUPER was best to begin with STARLINE WHITE slow.  Shortly after the start STARLINE WHITE and OUR ELITE came together.  Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion STARLINE WHITE shifted in tightening OUR ELITE.  Approaching the 1st turn STARLINE WHITE improved onto the heels of CRACKING CAZA checking this greyhound.  Shortly after, BRODIE’S MEMORY improved onto the heels of EARLY SUPER checking this greyhound and forcing it to shift out onto the running of EL MUFASA.  Both EARLY SUPER and EL MUFASA were forced wide through the 1st turn as a result.  Continuing through the turn STARLINE WHITE and MAGGIE MERLOT were tightened between CRACKING CAZA and BRODIE’S MEMORY which shifted.  OUR ELITE which was following was hampered.  Approaching the top turn BRODIE’S MEMORY shifted in tightening CRACKING CAZA.  Through the top turn OUR ELITE shifted out off the heels of BRODIE’S MEMORY colliding with STARLINE WHITE.  EL MUFASA and EARLY SUPER which were following were checked as OUR ELITE lost ground.  Entering the home straight BRODIE’S MEMORY and MAGGIE MERLOT bumped.

 

Race 4 – Novice 520m

TOUCH OF CAJUN was slow to begin.  Immediately after the start CLASSIC TYCOON shifted out checking NOW FEAR THIS.  Down the home straight on the 1st occasion ARISTOTLE shifted in tightening CLASSIC TYCOON, ONE WON’T HURT, BOO BOO CHILD and WICKED QUEEN.  WICKED QUEEN and BOO BOO CHILD lost significant ground as a result.  Through the 1st turn CLASSIC TYCOON shifted out off the heels of NOW FEAR THIS and bumped with ONE WON’T HURT.

 

Race 5 – 0 – 3 Wins 600m

FURY ROSE HI was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start SCARLETT GRACE was tightened between STARTIN’ MONDAY and ALLEZ DE BRAVE.  Shortly after, REALITY GHOST improved onto the hindquarters of WOOHOO checking this greyhound.  As a result WOOHOO appeared to sustain an injury and took no further competitive part in the event.  Through the final turn ALLEZ DE BRAVE shifted out off the heels of REALITY GHOST hampering FURY ROSE HI.

 

The greyhound SCARLETT GRACE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards spoke to the trainer’s representative Mr. C Currey in regards to the greyhound’s poor performance.  Mr. Currey alluded to the fact that the greyhound did receive interference shortly after the start which he believed hampered its chances in this event, as the greyhound does prefer to position itself as a front runner.  Stewards advised Mr. Currey that the greyhound’s future performances would be closely monitored.

 

The greyhound WOOHOO was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade 520m

ULTRA BLUE was best to begin with TRIGGER slow.  Shortly after the start THAT ONE shifted in colliding with SPRING CHARLIE.  Through the 1st turn SPRING CHARLIE improved onto the hindquarters of ABBY’S MAGIC which became unbalanced.  Shortly after, NO CALLARATAH shifted out off the heels of FULL OF ATTITUDE and in doing so hampered SPRING CHARLIE and ABBY’S MAGIC.

 

The greyhound CHEEKY CHANCE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound TRIGGER was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near fore toe and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 7 – Best 8 520m

Even start.  Shortly after the start OUTA TEMPO shifted out colliding with YOGI BLUE.  Approaching the 1st turn OUTA TEMPO, YOGI BLUE, BIG DAC and TITAN ASH raced tight.  Through the back straight OUTA TEMPO shifted out hampering TITAN ASH.  YOGI BLUE was wide.

 

Race 8 – 5th Grade Final 520m

GRIN AND WIN and GOT THE ATTITUDE were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start BUTCHULLA BOY shifted in tightening CYNDIE’S MAGIC and ROCKAWAY BEACH.  Approaching the 1st turn BUTCHULLA BOY was tightened between GRIN AND WIN and ROCKAWAY BEACH.  Through the 1st turn CYNDIE’S MAGIC and BUTCHULLA BOY raced tight and bumped.  Entering the back straight RIZZINI shifted out off the heels of RENOUF’S MAGIC and came together with GRIN AND WIN.  Entering the top turn CYNDIE’S MAGIC and GRIN AND WIN collided.  Racing through the top turn GRIN AND WIN and RIZZINI collided heavily.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 520m

SIVAMET was best to begin with FLAUNT IT slow.  Shortly after the start SERENE STAR, MY DIEGO and BOGIE’S A STAR were tightened between PLUM JAM and CHEEKY CHANCE, which shifted.  Shortly after, PLUM JAM improved onto the heels of BEAT THE BULLET checking this greyhound.  Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion MY DIEGO and BOGIE’S A STAR were hampered as SERENE STAR shifted.  Approaching the top turn PLUM JAM shifted out checking CHEEKY CHANCE which fell and took no further competitive part in the event.  BOGIE’S A STAR and MY DIEGO which were following were severely inconvenienced.

 

The greyhound PLUM JAM was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off hind toe and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 520m

Even start.  SMASHNIAK GOLD was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start CHARIOT’S OFFIAH, OUR CHALLENGE and DORRIE MAC came together.  Approaching the 1st turn FAST BEAN shifted in tightening DORRIE MAC. Through the 1st turn OUR CHALLENGE shifted out off the heels of FAST BEAN and as a result collided with SMASHNIAK GOLD. LARA SAINT and SPRING FIRECHIEF were tight and unbalanced through the top turn.
