GENERAL

 

The greyhound GOLDEN LOTUS performed a Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.59.

 

The greyhound MOCHA LATTE performed a Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.11.

 

The greyhound DRAGON DUK performed a Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.61.

 

The greyhound ARLIE CRUSADER performed a Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.09.

 

The greyhound LEADFOOT TANNER performed a Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.71.

 

The greyhound CAHILL EXPRESS performed a Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.07.

 

The greyhound BELLA CRUSADER performed a Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.72.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 331m

CASSIOPEIA and TIA MARIA were best to begin.  In the back straight ARIANNA checked off the heels of TWO BEERS.  Entering the top turn FEARLESS DUK checked off the heels of GOLD TOTAL.  Through the top turn FEARLESS DUK shifted out checking COOL CREDIT.  Entering the home straight ARIANNA checked off the heels of FEARLESS DUK.  ARIANNA and TIA MARIA raced wide throughout the home straight.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 331m

GODDESS ZORAYA was slow to begin.  Entering the top turn KNOCKA’S MATE checked off the heels of SWITCH BLADE.  Shortly after KNOCKA’S MATE then checked off the heels of SCORCHING CORNER.

 

The greyhound GODDESS ZORAYA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards interviewed trainer Mr. C Curtis regarding the performance of GODDESS ZORAYA.  Stewards advised Mr. Curtis that the greyhound’s performance was bordering on unsatisfactory.  Mr. Curtis advised stewards that he would speak to the owners in regard to where he races GODDESS ZORAYA whether it be at non TAB or TAB tracks in the future.

 

Race 3 – Maiden Heat 3 331m

SOMERSET SUPREME and SHE’S SO CLASSY were best to begin.  OKA’S ANGEL and SPY MISS were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start BLACK SYRUP checked off the heels of OKA’S ANGEL.  Approaching the top turn SPY MISS checked off the heels of FLYING BATMAN.  BLACK SYRUP who was following was also checked and lost ground.  Entering the home straight SPY MISS checked off the heels of FLYING BATMAN.  URBAN ENFORCER raced wide throughout the home straight.

 

The greyhound SPY MISS was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – Maiden Final 331m

The start of this race was delayed two minutes due to an overseas event.

 

SMOKE UNDERCOVER and TWO AND SIXPENCE were both slow to begin.  In the back straight DETROIT MUSCLE and SOCIAL DANCER made contact.  Entering the top turn LILLY’S LEGACY shifted out forcing SOCIAL DANCER wider on the track.  Shortly after SOCIAL DANCER checked off the heels of LILLY’S LEGACY causing SOCIAL DANCER to be taken in making contact with TWO AND SIXPENCE resulting in SOCIAL DANCER becoming severely unbalanced.  Entering the home straight SMOKE UNDERCOVER checked off the heels of TO THE LOCAL. TWO AND SIXPENCE raced wide throughout the home straight.

 

The greyhound SOCIAL DANCER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Stewards spoke to trainer’s representative of SMOKE UNDERCOVER Mr. D Moore in relation to him boxing the greyhound at the start of the race.  Stewards advised Mr. Moore that once his greyhound has been boxed he is to move away from the boxes.

 

Race 5 – Novice 331m

DAME MELBA OSTI was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SHAKIRA BELLA was tightened and lost some ground between KIOWA KING and COSMIC MARLOW, both of which shifted.  In the back straight OUR ISLAND HOME checked off the heels of KINETIC KING.  Approaching the top turn KINETIC KING checked off the heels of TRU BLU DASH.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade 520m

TOPPING was best to begin.  BOCHINO APPEAL and SPRING CHARLIE were both slow to begin.  In the front straight on the 1st occasion CHEVALEIR NUIT shifted in checking BOGART BLEND.  Leaving the 1st turn GUNLOCH checked off the heels of TOPPING forcing this greyhound to shift out bumping SENOR’S MISTRESS.  In the back straight GUNLOCH checked off the heels of SENOR’S MISTRESS.  Turning into the front straight TOPPING shifted in checking GUNLOCH.  Entering the home straight TOPPING and BOCHINO APPEAL collided.

 

The greyhound TOPPING was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – 4/5th Grade 395m

LE SIRENUSE and SMASH EM UP were best to begin.  Entering the turn out into the back straight LE SIRENUSE shifted in checking PETITE FOX.  In the back straight SPY QUEEN checked off the heels of MODERN MISS.  Approaching the top turn PETITE FOX was checked by MISS PITTY PAT, which shifted in resulting in PETITE FOX losing considerable ground.  Through the top turn SMASH EM UP and HOPE’S MAGIC collided causing SMASH EM UP to lose considerable ground.  PETITE FOX raced wide throughout the home straight.

 

The greyhound PETITE FOX was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 8 – 5th Grade 395m

BOSANOVA and QUEENIES BEST were best to begin.  NO PRISONERS was slow to begin.  Leaving the 1st turn into the back straight QUEENIES BEST shifted in making heavy contact with LADY’S ANGEL, causing QUEENIES BEST to fall and take no further competitive part in the event.  NO PRISONERS who was following was also inconvenienced.  In the back straight MICHAEL BENZ checked off the heels of LADY’S ANGEL.  Through the top turn RUPERT checked off the heels of LADY’S ANGEL.  Entering the home straight RUPERT checked off the heels of MICHAEL BENZ.

 

The greyhound QUEENIES BEST was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 395m

GYMPIE FLYER was best to begin.  SPRITE AND POWER and SPRING CHOICE were both slow to begin.  Shortly after the start when MR. MARAUDER shifted towards the fence both MIGHTY ROCKET and OSUMARE were tightened and had to be checked.  Entering the back straight OSUMARE was tightened between MIGHTY ROCKET and BLACK WIDOW.  SPRING CHOICE who was following was also inconvenienced.  In the back straight BLACK WIDOW lost considerable ground when in clear running.

 

The greyhound BLACK WIDOW was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 395m

BODEGA VISTA, LAURYN’S BEST and ELLIE’S VOLUNTAS were best to begin.  Shortly after the start DASHING DIME and MARLO GOOD raced tight.  Entering the back straight BODEGA VISTA checked off the heels of LAURYN’S BEST causing interference to ELLIE’S VOLUNTAS and ULTIMATE STAR.  In the back straight ELLIE’S VOLUNTAS checked off the heels of PURE EDGE causing ELLIE’S VOLUNTAS to lose some ground.
