The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

Race 6 TEE BRADY Injured in running, off side wrist, 10 days
Race 6 FABULOUS STORM Injured in running, off side hip, 10 days
CHIEF HASSLER was slow to begin. Shortly after the start BE ZANEY was tightened between CHEEKY CHANCE and HOUSO DELIGHT. Approaching the 1st turn HOUSO DELIGHT shifted off the heels of ARISTOTLE and checked CHEEKY CHANCE and ART OF CONFUSION which lost ground. CHIEF HASSLER and BE ZANEY which were following were hampered. Entering the top turn BRALYN CHARLIE checked off the heels of HOUSO DELIGHT. Continuing through the top turn BRALYN CHARLIE checked off the heels of HOUSO DELIGHT.
DON’T DOUBLE UP was slow to begin. Shortly after the start ROSDUE BOOMER and POCAHONTAS shifted in tightening MILLIE’S COMET. Shortly after, DON’T DOUBLE UP checked MINNIE IMPACT. Entering the 1st turn STUART’S CHOICE and ROSDUE BOOMER came together. Passing the catching pen SOLO MISS and COSMIC CYCLONE bumped. Shortly after, DON’T DOUBLE UP shifted out hampering MILLIE’S COMET. Through the top turn DON’T DOUBLE UP checked off the heels of POCAHONTAS.
Race 3 – 5th
Grade 520m
Even start. Approaching the 1st turn ZAFONIC BOOM was tightened between TEXAS TEE and WEALTHY SCHOONER. Through the 1st turn ROSDUE DYNAMO and MADE THAT WAY were tight. Entering the back straight WALLY WHO CALLS was tightened between GEORGINA and SPECIAL GIRL and all 3 greyhounds became severely unbalanced and lost ground. MADE THAT WAY and ROSDUE DYNAMO which were following were also inconvenienced. Leaving the back straight GEORGINA checked off the heels of SPECIAL GIRL.
The greyhound ROSDUE DYNAMO was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 4 – 4/5th
Grade 520m
PACIFIC HARBOUR was slow to begin. Through the front turn CASH IN MOTION shifted in tightening BIG DAC, TITAN ASH and HOPE’S FANTASY which lost ground.
Race 5 – National Distance
Prelude 710m
COSMIC WATERS and MULLAWAY were best to begin with PARCHMENT slow. Approaching the 1st turn COSMIC WATERS checked off the heels of MULLAWAY and severely inconvenienced CYNDIE’S MAGIC, WILDASH TAPPER and STARGATE SYSTEM. STARGATE SYSTEM was forced to race extremely wide through the 1st turn as a result. On the turn into the home straight CYDNIE’S MAGIC and PARCHMENT were tight and unbalanced.
The greyhound STARGATE SYSTEM was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
The
greyhound WILDASH TAPPER was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
near side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
Race 6 – National Sprint
Qld Heat 1 520m
TEE BRADY and SENOR’S MISTRESS were best to begin with FABULOUS STORM and MPINGO slow. Shortly after the start BLACK CASPER shifted out hampering FABULOUS STORM. FABULOUS STORM and BLACK CASPER raced tight and bumped down the front straight. Through the 1st turn BLACK CASPER shifted off the heels of MPINGO and forced FABULOUS STORM to race wide. Through the back straight BLACK CASPER shifted out checking FABULOUS STORM.
The
greyhound TEE BRADY was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off
side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
The
greyhound FABULOUS STORM was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
off side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days. When questioned over the below market
expectation performance trainer Mr. R Hazelgrove stated the greyhound was fit
to run in this event, and made reference to the interference suffered by FABULOUS STORM throughout the
run. Stewards noted Mr. Hazelgrove’s comments.
Race 7 – National Sprint Qld Heat 2 520m
Even start. FLASH REALITY shifted in checking GRAND ROMAN through the front straight. Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion MAIN STORY tightened CYNDIE’S SPECIAL and as a result RENOUF’S MAGIC was forced to shift out off the heels of CYNDIE’S SPECIAL and in doing so hampered GRAND ROMAN and DON’T GO QUIETLY.
Race 8 – National Sprint Qld Heat 3 520m
Even start. Entering the back straight WINGED ELITE improved onto the heels of IVA VISION and both greyhounds were checked and lost ground. COSMIC BOSS which was following was also inconvenienced.
The greyhound IVA VISION was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 9 – 4/5th Grade 600m
BLACK PARADOX was best to begin with KNAVE slowly away. BOGIE’S A STAR and FAST AS raced wide entering the front straight. FAST AS checked off the heels of BOGIE’S A STAR through the front straight. BOGIE’S A STAR was wide entering the home straight.
The greyhound NO CALLARATAH was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
When questioned on the improved performance of BLACK PARADOX trainer’s representative Mr. P Cauchi advised stewards that the greyhound had trailed well in a reserve trial the previous week over 600m. Mr. Cauchi believed that 600m race suited this greyhound more than the 520m and he further stated that he did support the greyhound in this event. Stewards noted Mr. Cauchi’s comments.
Race 10 – 5th Grade 520m
ANOA’I was slow to begin. Entering the 1st turn ANOA’I shifted off the heels of SLASHIN’ PETE. Shortly after, SLASHIN’ PETE checked off the heels of MINI OREO. Through the turn FAST BEAN checked off the heels of SERENE STAR. Continuing through the turn MINI OREO and SLASHIN’ PETE both checked off heels and FAST BEAN which was racing to their outside was hampered.
