VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Novice 520m

CASHPOT was best to begin with SPECIAL VISION slowly away.  Soon after the start NAPALM and ALPHA ADONIS collided.  Entering the back straight OUR GOLD checked off the heels of JUST BE GUN causing JUST BE GUN to force ALPHA ADONIS wide.  In the home straight OUR GOLD was wide.

 

After the race stewards found that the greyhound SPECIAL VISION raced with the collar on.  Trainer’s representative Mr. J Shaw was fined $200 under Rule 86 (o) for failure to remove the greyhound’s collar on SPECIAL VISION.

 

Stewards spoke to starter and reminded him to be more diligent.

 

The greyhound JUST BE GUN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – Novice 520m

EZY BEACH was best to begin with VEGAS BOUND slowly away.  Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion DOOLEY’S SPRITE and EL GRAND JUNIOR collided causing EL GRAND JUNIOR to come out checking BAGO BAGO causing BAGO BAGO and EL GRAND JUNIOR to fall who in turn LORRY DRYVA collided, causing LORRY DRYVA to fall.  On the turn out of the home straight VEGAS BOUND was wide.  Entering the turn into the home straight VEGAS BOUND and SMART SPIRIT collided.

 

The greyhound EL GRAND JUNIOR was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound LORRY DRYVA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound BAGO BAGO was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 520m

BULL TITAN was best to begin with TEXAS TEE slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight on the 1st occasion NO CALLARATAH and COSMIC CYCLONE collided forcing NO CALLARATAH wide.  Entering the top turn KING ELLIOT checked off the heels of BULL TITAN.  On the top turn WESTERN DAVE was wide.  In the home straight KING ELLIOT was wide.

 

The greyhound NO CALLARATAH was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 4 – National Distance Qld Final 710m

FLAUNT IT was best to begin with STARGATE SYSTEM slowly away.  On the top turn and home straight on the 1st occasion CYNDIE’S MAGIC was wide.  On the top turn on the 2nd occasion SMASHNIAK GOLD and CYNDIE’S MAGIC collided.  Entering the turn into the home straight FLAUNT IT and CYNDIE’S MAGIC collided.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 520m

MINCIN’ MACHINE and TOURMALINE were best to begin with MISS JACKPOT and BAY OF SPRITE slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight on the 1st occasion SOME VALUE checked off the heels of ABBY’S MAGIC causing ABBY’S MAGIC to check BLACK PARADOX and MISS JACKPOT, forcing MISS JACKPOT wide on the turn and back straight.  In the back straight GEORGINA checked off the heels of ABBY’S MAGIC.  On the turn out of the back straight SOME VALUE, MISS JACKPOT and BAY OF SPRITE collided causing BAY OF SPRITE to drop back.  On the turn into the home straight ABBY’S MAGIC, GEORGINA and TOURMALINE all raced tight and bumped.  Approaching the winning post GEORGINA and TOURMALINE collided.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade 520m

TITAN ASH and PACIFICA HARBOUR were best to begin with DON’T GO QUIETLY and SPANISH QUEEN slowly away.  Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion TITAN ASH and BIG DAC collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight DASHING CANUTE and FLASH ZOE collided.  Entering the turn into the back straight BIG DAC and DON’T GO QUIETLY collided causing DON’T GO QUIETLY to check FLASH ZOE and SWIFT PIRATE.  In the back straight SWIFT PIRATE and SPANISH QUEEN collided.  On the top turn and home straigth DASHING CANUTE was wide.

 

The greyhound SWIFT PIRATE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – 3/4th Grade 520m

After the stir up and as the greyhounds were coming to the boxes before the ‘all clear’ signal the lure started and did a single circuit slowly.  The lure driver was questioned and advised it was a mistake as he hit the button by mistake.  Connections were offered to be vetted and all declined.

 

DREAM RIVER was best to begin with CASH IN MOTION, RENOUF’S MAGIC and INDIANA RUMBLE slowly away.  On the turn out of the home straight CASH IN MOTION and INDIANA RUMBLE collided.  On the top turn and home straight RENOUF’S MAGIC was wide.

 

Race 8 – National Sprint Qld Final 520m

ANNIE BENZ was best to begin with PIKELET and CHEEKY FREYER slowly away.  Soon after the start CYNDIE’S SPECIAL and FLASH REALITY collided causing CYNDIE’S SPECIAL to drop back sharply.  Entering the back straight FLASH REALITY checked off the heels of MAIN STORY, causing FLASH REALITY to check CYNDIE’S SPECIAL and CHEEKY FREYER.  In the back straight MAIN STORY and PIKELET collided.  On the top turn MAIN STORY and PIKELET collided.  In the home straight MPINGO was wide.

 

The greyhound CHEEKY FREYER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 520m

Best to begin STUART’S CHOICE with TEQUILLA SWINGER slowly away.  Soon after the start GRAY GRAY and RUM RAMBLER collided.  On the turn out of the home straight RUM RAMBLER was wide.  Entering the back straight GRAY GRAY checked of the heels STUART’S CHOICE.  Entering the turn out of the back straight BRALYN CHARLIE checked off the heels of SMASHNIAK CLASS.  In the home straight RUM RAMBLER and TEQUILLA SWINGER were wide.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 520m

ZAFONIC BOOM was best to begin with FOUR EXCEPTIONAL slowly away.  Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion ZAFONIC BOOM and FOUR EXCEPTIONAL collided.  On the turn out of the home straight PRINCE FREDERICK was wide.  Entering the back straight ROYAL ALBERT and ZAFONIC BOOM collided.  Entering the top turn SOLO MISS and ZAFONIC BOOM were racing tight and bumping.  On the top turn FOUR EXCEPTIONAL was wide.  Entering the home straight FOUR EXCEPTIONAL and WEALTHY SCHOONER collided.  In the home straight PRINCE FREDERICK was wide.
