VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound GOOD GIRL JANICE performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.39.

 

The greyhound TREVON’S FURY performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 395m in a time of 22.74.

 

The greyhound LA MADRINA performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 395m in a time of 22.82.

 

The greyhound ARABIAN MELODY performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.36 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks except Brisbane until after 19 August 2015.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 520m

MR. COLLISION was slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn tightening of the field resulted in interference to all runners excluding MAGIC SPARKLE.  As a result FLASHING FEAR fell and took no further part in the event.  SUMMER GLORY was also heavily checked and lost ground, while REAL FEAR and SIDBO were severely inconvenienced.

 

The greyhound SUMMER GLORY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound FLASHING FEAR was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 520m

GLENALLON ZULU was best to begin with LE BRONS VILLAGE, HESA BIRD and BELLA LEE slow.  Shortly after the start IMA COWBOY shifted out tightening BELLA LEE.  Approaching the 1st turn HESA BIRD shifted in tightening LEIGH’S MIMSEAL.  Entering the 1st turn HESA BIRD improved onto the heels of MR. SURRENDER and became severely unbalanced, shifting out and checking LE BRONS VILLAGE.  Both HESA BIRD and LE BRONS VILLAGE were forced extremely wide on the track and lost significant ground in this incident.  LEIGH’S MIMSEAL was wide entering the back straight.

 

The greyhound HESA BIRD was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound LE BRONS VILLAGE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – Novice 520m

PROTO PENNY was best to begin with ALPHA ADONIS and SPECIAL VISION slow.  Down the front straight CHIEF HASSLER was tightened between ALPHA ADONIS and ROSABEL and lost ground.  SPECIAL VISION which was following was hampered.  Shortly after, SPECIAL VISION shifted in tightening CHIEF HASSLER.  Entering the back straight AUSSIE ALI improved onto the heels of PROTO PENNY and both greyhounds were checked.

 

Race 4 – Novice 520m

UNIQUE RECALL and DOOLEY’S FIT were best to begin and NOVIRO and DETROIT MUSCLE were slow.  Approaching the 1st turn NOVIRO became unbalanced when racing between LADY KIN and MY TINY SIZE and all 3 greyhounds became severely unbalanced with DETROIT MUSCLE which was following also severely inconvenienced.  This incident resulted in NOVIRO, DETROIT MUSCLE and LADY KIN losing significant ground.  UNIQUE RECALL was wide through the home straight.

 

The greyhound NOVIRO was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound DETROIT MUSCLE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound LADY KIN was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade Heat 1 520m

Even start.  Entering the 1st turn MASTER CODY checked off the heels of THAT ONE forcing CHARIOT’S OFFIAH wide.  Through the 1st turn OCTOBER SPRING shifted in tightening THAT ONE.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade Heat 2 520m

JAYDEN LASS was best to begin. Entering the first turn FIERY BENZ, OUR GOLD, SPRING FIRECHIEF and FAST BEAN were tight and unbalanced. Through the front straight HER FAULT and GET INVOLVED came together. OUR GOLD was wide in the home straight.

 

The greyhound GET INVOLVED was vetted on the 1st occasion and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound GET INVOLVED was vetted a subsequent time and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock, and was stood down for a period of 14 days. Further to this, connections of this greyhound confirmed with stewards the subsequent day that GET INVOLVED was found to have suffered a fractured hock.

 

Race 7 – 0 – 3 Wins 600m

BY THE GALLON and SUNNYSIDE JAY were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn BONNIE BRAE tightened SUNNYSIDE JAY.  BY THE GALLON was wide entering the front straight.  Through the bottom turn VIRUNGA shifted wide hampering SKETCHY AIMY and BY THE GALLON.  Entering the top turn BONNIE BRAE checked off the heels of DAINTY LASS.  Entering the home straight DAINTY LASS, BONNIE BRAE and BY THE GALLON were tight.

 

Race 8 – Best 8 520m

Even start.  Through the front straight HOUGENIE was tightened between DON’T GO QUIETLY and PIKELET and lost ground.  Approaching the 1st turn DON’T GO QUIETLY shifted in tightening PIKELET and THIS TIME REBA, which were both forced to shift out and hampered HOUGENIE.  Through the 1st turn WAIKARIE MAGIC and BLUE TARTAN raced tight and WAIKARIE MAGIC lost ground.  RENATUS which was following was hampered.  Leaving the 1st turn BULL TITAN shifted out hampering BLUE TARTAN.  Through the back straight THIS TIME REBA shifted out checking BLUE TARTAN.  Approaching the top turn BLUE TARTAN was tightened between THIS TIME REBA and PIKELET and lost ground.  Through the top turn WAIKARIE MAGIC checked off the heels of BULL TITAN and collided with THIS TIME REBA.

 

Race 9 – 4/5th Grade 600m

BLACK PARADOX and MINNIE IMPACT were best to begin.  Entering the front straight PICTURES PEARCE checked off the heels of BLACK PARADOX.  Approaching the bottom turn BLACK PARADOX was tightened as PICTURES PEARCE improved to its outside.  Through the bottom turn ALPHA ACHILLES improved onto the heels of BLACK PARADOX and both greyhounds were checked.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade Heat 3 520m

FOUR EXCEPTIONAL was best to begin with IRINKA SHANE and DIAMOND OSPREY slow.  Shortly after the start IRINKA SHANE was tightened between DON’T DOUBLE UP and RUM RAMBLER.  Through the front straight ANOTHER HASSLER shifted in tightening RUM RAMBLER which lost ground.  Through the back straight FOUR EXCEPTIONAL shifted out forcing DIAMOND OSPREY to race wide.  Approaching the top turn FOUR EXCEPTIONAL shifted in tightening ANOTHER HASSLER which lost ground.  DON’T DOUBLE UP was wide into the top turn.
