The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound DISMANTLE performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.29.

 

The greyhound SOHO VANE performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 22.89.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 520m

KINLOCH BEACH was best to begin.  Shortly after the start BOGIE ROCK was tightened for racing room between LEGACY CHIEF and BELLA CRUSADER and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight LEGACY CHIEF shifted out and made contact with OKA’S ANGEL causing that greyhound to shift out and come into contact with BELLA CRUSADER causing that greyhound to become unbalanced and lose ground.  BOGIE ROCK was checked and lost ground as a result of this incident.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 520m

PROFESSOR and SUITE ALEXIS were best to begin.  COVERT AFFAIR and BELLA LEE were slow to begin.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight NOT TODAY MATE shifted out and made contact with MR. SURRENDER causing that greyhound to shift out and make heavy contact with BELLA LEE causing BELLA LEE to become unbalanced and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight COVERT AFFAIR contacted the heels of MR. SURRENDER.  In the back straight MR. SURRENDER and BELLA LEE came together.

 

The greyhound BELLA LEE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – Novice 520m

SPECIAL VISION was very slow to begin.  Leaving the front straight LATESHOW MATISSE contacted the hindquarters of BERNIE CHEE causing both greyhounds to be checked.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight SPECIAL VISION shifted out and made contact with CHIEF HASSLER causing that greyhound to become unbalanced.

 

Race 4 – 3/4th Grade 520m

NO CALLARATAH was best to begin.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight TWEED CHIC was tightened for racing room between LOTUS BLOSSOM and OUTA TEMPO and as a consequence was checked and lost ground.  RENOUF’S MAGIC was checked as a result of this incident.  In the back straight MAGIC MAIDEN shifted in and tightened the racing room of BULL TITAN causing that greyhound to be checked.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade Heat 1 520m

BE ZANEY was best to begin.  I’M ALL STRIPES was slow to begin.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight SIR TIGER OSTI shifted in which resulted in URBAN STREET coming into heavy contact with his hindquarters causing both greyhounds to be severely checked.  BIRKDALE BANDIT, OBSIDIAN and JAYDEN LASS were all checked as a result of this incident.

 

The greyhound OBSIDIAN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SIR TIGER OSTI was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade Heat 2 520m

FORTUNE FADED and PUMPY’S LUCK were best to begin.  MASTER CODY was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start PUMPY’S LUCK shifted in and as a result DETROIT MUSCLE, VIRUNGA, MASTER CODY, DON’T DOUBLE UP and MISS JAX were all tightened for racing room.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight DON’T DOUBLE UP shifted in and made contact with VIRUNGA causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.   MISS JAX and VIRUNGA raced wide in the back straight.  MISS JAX raced wide in the run to the finish.

 

The greyhound MASTER CODY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards intend to interview trainer Mr. K Kemp into the reason why he did not present himself to the stewards room after his greyhound was inspected by the club veterinary surgeon.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Heat 3 520m

Even start with PARCHMENT slow to begin.  Shortly after the start HARA’S HARRY shifted in which resulted in WHITE MARLIN, SIVAMET and BRAGA MCCOY all being checked.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight PARCHMENT shifted in and tightened the racing room of MY TINY SIZE causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight BRAGA MCCOY shifted out and made contact with PARCHMENT causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  In the back straight SIVAMET shifted in and tightened the racing room of PARCHMENT causing that greyhound to be hampered.

 

Race 8 – 0 – 3 Wins 600m

DAINTY LASS, AUSSIE ALI and SMASHNIAK GOLD were best to begin.  ANOTHER HASSLER and SKETCHY AIMY were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start AUSSIE ALI and SMASHNIAK GOLD came together resulting in SMASHNIAK GOLD being checked.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight DAINTY LASS and SMASHNIAK GOLD came together.  Shortly afterwards OUR GOLD and BLACK COBIA came together.

 

The greyhound ANOTHER HASSLER was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off hind foot and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 395m

Even start.  Shortly after the start WONDER BLUE shifted in and made heavy contact with JOHN SNOW causing that greyhound to be severely checked.  Shortly thereafter HIGHLIFE shifted in and tightened the racing room of ASTOUND YA, causing that greyhound to lose ground.  Leaving the back straight ASTOUND YA shifted in and made contact with TIA TWO causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  In the back straight SHE’S A FOX shifted in which resulted in TIA TWO being checked and in turn shift in and made contact with HIGHLIFE causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 395m

TITAN ASH was best to begin.  WALLY’S WAY raced wide in the back straight.  GIVE YOU CREDIT gave ground entering the turn out of the back straight.  TEJAY’S GRAND gave ground over the final 100m.

 

The greyhound TEJAY’S GRAND was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards questioned trainer Mr. T Lowe regarding the performance of the greyhound in tonight’s event in particular with it yielding ground over the concluding stages.  Mr. Lowe stated that the greyhound has been in his care for its previous 6 starts and was somewhat satisfied with the performance of the greyhound as the time it ran was up to the its best time while its been its care.  He further stated that TEJAY’S GRAND will be restricted to its future racing in the Bundaberg.  Stewards noted his explanation and advised him if he wished to race the greyhound back at Albion Park he would first need to seek permission from the stewards.

 

When questioned trainer Mr. P Ruetschi expressed disappointment in the greyhound’s performance and was of the view that he may give consideration to retiring the greyhound. Stewards advised Mr. P Ruetschi that the greyhound GIVE YOU CREDIT would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, and must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 395m all tracks prior to nominating.
