VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Novice 520m

GLENALLON ZULU and MADAM MEDUSA were best to begin with SUPER SOOK and EL GRAND JUNIOR slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight SUPER SOOK checked off the heels of MADAM MEDUSA causing MADAM MEDUSA to fall with MADAM MEDUSA in turn checking EL GRAND JUNIOR, LEEROY RIPPER and WONDER BLUE.  EL GRAND JUNIOR took no further competitive part in the event.  In the back straight GLENALLON ZULU was wide.  In the home straight LEEROY RIPPER was wide.

 

The greyhound MADAM MEDUSA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – 5th Grade 520m

HOPE’S MAGIC was best to begin with COLD HARD TRUTH and NOT THE ONE slowly away.  Soon after the start COLD HARD TRUTH and NOT THE ONE collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight COLD HARD TRUTH and LOVE KILLS collided.  On the turn out of the home straight SWIFT PIRATE was wide.  In the back straight SWIFT PIRATE was wide.  In the home straight COLD HARD TRUTH and NOT THE ONE were wide.

 

The greyhound COLD HARD TRUTH was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The connections of LOVE KILLS were reprimanded by stewards for boxing his greyhound early.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 520m

WITH A GEE was best to begin with YOUI and MADE THAT WAY slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight ZIPPING SPIKE, YOUI and FLASH HOUDINI all collided causing YOUI to drop back sharply.  On the turn out of the home straight YOUI was wide.  On the top turn ZIPPING SPIKE was wide.  Approaching the winning post YOUI and FLASH HOUDINI collided.

 

Race 4 – 5th Grade 520m

Even start with GENERAL CLOUD slowly away.  Soon after the start GIFT BOX and JAZ NIRO collided.  On the turn out of the home straight JAZ NIRO was wide.  Entering the turn into the back straight LORRY DRYVA checked off the heels of VEUVE.  Entering the turn into the home straight JAZ NIRO and BEAT THE BULLET collided.  In the home straight IN THE PICTURE was wide.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade 520m

RENATUS was best to begin with WAR PICTURE and PACIFIC HARBOUR were slowly away.  Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion BULL TITAN and TITAN ASH collided causing TITAN ASH to check SERENE STAR.  On the turn out of the home straight TITAN ASH was wide.  In the back straight INDIANA RUMBLE checked off the heels of SERENE STAR.  Entering the home straight PACIFIC HARBOUR crossed to the outside.

 

Race 6 – Open 600m

MINNIE IMPACT was best to begin with KNAVE slowly away.  Soon after the start MINNIE IMPACT, HOUGENIE and SHERIDON all collided.  Entering the turn into the home straight on the 1st occasion KNAVE and MAGIC KITCHEN collided forcing MAGIC KITCHEN wide.  In the home straight HOUGENIE was wide.  In the back straight CHEEKY CHANCE and KIDATEE CROC collided.  In the home straight HOUGENIE was wide.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Final 520m

SIMPATICO and MARLUCA were best to begin with VELOCITY SPICE and HOUINDEED slowly away.  Soon after the start REGINALD BENZ and DON’T GO QUIETLY collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight DON’T GO QUIETLY checked off the heels of MARLUCA causing MARLUCA to fall, who in turn caused DON’T GO QUIETLY to fall with these 2 greyhounds checking REGINALD BENZ and HOUINDEED, causing REGINALD BENZ and HOUINDEED to take no further competitive part in the event.

 

The greyhound MARLUCA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound DON’T GO QUIETLY was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off hind and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 8 – Best 8 520m

YOGI BLUE and ANNIE BENZ were best to begin with CASH IN MOTION and LADY ABIGAIL slowly away.  Soon after the start MPINGO and MAIN STORY collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight YOGI BLUE and ANNIE BENZ collided with CYNDIE’S SPECIAL and LADY ABIGAIL colliding.  Entering the back straight MPINGO and YOGI BLUE collided.  In the back and home straights CYNDIE’S SPECIAL was wide.

 

The greyhound CASH IN MOTION was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  The connections of this greyhound were questioned by stewards and the trainer Mr. R Cooke stated that the greyhound always misses the start and was up in class.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 520m

CERVELO was best to begin with TOBIAS RUMBLE slowly away.  Soon after the start DON’T DOUBLE UP and FOR LUCK collided.  On the turn out of the home straight ABBY’S MAGIC was wide.  In the back straight PEARLS ANGEL was wide.  Entering the top turn TOBIAS RUMBLE checked off the heels of ABBY’S MAGIC.  In the home straight PEARLS ANGEL was wide.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 520m

OXLEY RUBEY was best to begin with ROYAL ALBERT slowly away.  Approaching the turn out of the home straight FROSTY JAY JAY and BIG DAC collided.  On the turn out of the home straight GEMMA DUAL and BE ZANEY collided.  On the turn into the back straight LARA SAINT and BE ZANEY collided.  In the back straight BE ZANEY was wide.  In the home straight FROSTY JAY JAY was wide.
