ITALIAN MAGIC was best to begin with COSMIC LAPTOP and SAMUEL BENJAMIN slow. Through the turn COSMICS LAPTOP improved onto the heels of SHOUT ROYALE. Both greyhounds were severely checked. LAKODA BUTTONS and SAMUEL BENJAMIN which were racing to the outside were also inconvenienced. SAMUEL BENJAMIN was wide in the home straight.
MR. WOODS was best to begin with BENMESSO slow. In the back straight BENMESSO improved onto the heels of GRIMM’S BOY and both greyhounds became unbalanced. Entering the turn RONIN improved onto the heels of PAVLYUCHENKOVA and both greyhounds were checked. MR. WOODS was wide in the home straight.
Race 3 – Novice 331m
RIDES ON SCOOTER was best to begin. Shortly after the start OUR ISLAND HOME and KAY LEAVY were tightened and KAY LEAVY lost ground. Approaching the top turn SUMMER’S RACER and SHAYLOR CHARLIE came together and SUMMER’S RACE lost ground. Through the turn SUMMER’S RACER and HOOROO OLLIE collided and SUMMER’S RACER lost ground.
Race 4 – Novice 331m
The greyhound MISS KARA was vetted pre race, no apparent injuries were found and passed fit to compete.
DEE BEE TEN was best to begin with SMASH TO FEAR slow. Leaving the back straight SMASH TO FEAR and HIGHER LOVE came together with HIGHER LOVE losing ground. TATTOO was wide in the home straight.
Race 5 – Maiden Final 331m
LIMITILESS TALENT and PURE BEAUTY were best to begin. Shortly after the start FAMOUS REBEL checked off heels. ONE ZERO SEVEN was wide in the home straight.
Race 6 – 5th
Grade 395m
VEE ROCKET was best to begin. Shortly after the start MALEY MAGIC and GAGEN NANCY collided. Entering the back straight FANCY OSTI and SHEZA HUGGER were checked and lost ground. CLASSY SPRING and GAGAN NANCY were wide into the back straight. Shortly after, GAGAN NANCY checked off the heels of CLASSY SPRING. Through the back straight MARLEY MAGIC improved onto the heels of FANCY OSTI which lost ground. Through the top turn MARLEY MAGIC checked off heels. Entering the home straight GAGAN NANCY shifted out colliding with CLASSY SPRING. GAGAN NANCY raced wide in the home straight.
Race 7 – 5th Grade 395m
MINNIE’S HOPE was best to begin. Through the 1st turn MISS ELEGANCE checked off the heels of MINNIE’S HOPE and hampered FLYING RAVEN.
The
greyhound ESPRESSO SHOT was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.
Race 8 – 5th Grade 520m
MASTER CODY and EGYPTIAN LASS began awkwardly. Approaching the 1st turn SMOKING PAWS checked off the heels of EZY BEACH. Shortly after, MATT’S COURAGE checked off heels and lost ground. Through the 1st turn EGYPTIAN LASS, MASTER CODY and FIESTY FIE all collided and became unbalanced. SMOKING PAWS and EZY BEACH came together entering the back straight. Through the top turn SMOKING PAWS and EZY BEACH collided.
Race 9 – 3/4th Grade 395m
MR SNEAKY SNEAKY was best to begin and DISAMOND OSPREY slow. Through the 1st turn CUZZY BROMAC, HOLLYWOOD HEARTS and LADY’S ANGEL were checked causing LADY’S ANGEL to fall and take no further competitive part in the event. BLACK STEEL and DIAMOND OSPREY which were following were severely inconvenienced as LADY’S ANGEL fell. Entering the back straight KNOCK FOR ME and MR SNEAKY SNEAKY came together.
The greyhound LADY’S ANGEL was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 10 – 4th Grade 395m
HOWARD HENO and PETITE FOX were best to begin. Through the 1st turn WALLY WHO CALLS, BLOWIN’ NUMBERS, PACIFICA SPRING and DELTA QUEEN were all tight and became unbalanced. Shortly after, ZIPPING MANI shifted in tightening PACIFIC SPRING which lost ground. PACIFIC SPRING was wide in the top turn. Through the home straight BLOWIN’ NUMBERS turned its head inwards and marred the running of ZIPPING MANI.
Stewards advised trainer Mr. C Williams that the greyhound BLOWIN’ NUMBERS would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 3rd offence, 12 months plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 395m all tracks.
Race 11 – 5th Grade 395m
Even start. Through the 1st turn general tightening to the entire field resulted in SINDARYN, ALOTA BALONERY, SHRUB’S CRUSADER and JOHNATHAN’S HOPE all losing ground. Approaching the top turn JOHNATHAN’S HOPE checked off the heels of SANDGROUNDER. Through the top turn JOHNATHAN’S HOPE improved onto the heels of MAGIC GALO and lost ground. In the home straight SANDGROUNDER checked off heels.
