JUST SPIFFING, BOOTY BEACH, SHEZA MINI SIZE and ANYKEY were best to begin. COVERT AFFAIR was slow out. Approaching the turn out of the front straight GEORGE GALLON was tightened for racing room and lost some ground. SHEZA MINI SIZE commenced to give ground in the 1st turn and retired from the event. Leaving the front straight GEORGE GALLON shifted out hampering ARABELLA. Shortly afterwards ARABELLA crossed down and clipped the heels of GEORGE GALLON. Rounding the turn into the front straight ROCKING RONNY and BOOTY BEACH bumped. Rounding the home turn COVERT AFFAIR raced wide.
The greyhound SHEZA MINI SIZE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. G Sciotino that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.
SEND A MESSAGE and GOODY GIRL JANICE were best to begin. MR. COLLISION stumbled shortly after the start and lost ground. TO BIRDIES was slow to begin. Approaching the turn out of the front straight BELLA CRUSADER made heavy contact with the heels of GOOD GIRL JANICE causing both greyhounds to be checked. Shortly after MR. COLLISION shifted out and made heavy contact with the hindquarters of BELLA CRUSADER causing both greyhounds to be checked. Leading into the back straight TO BIRDIES shifted out and made contact with the heels of SIR BLINK causing both greyhounds to be checked. In the front straight MYSTIC HAWKE shifted out and made muzzle contact with OKA’S ANGEL. Shortly after MYSTIC HAWKE shifted in causing BELLA CRUSADER to be hampered.
Stewards advised trainer Mr. R Burman that the greyhound MYSTIC HAWKE would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.
Race 3 – Novice 520m
SUITE ALEXIS was best to begin. SPECIAL VISION was slow to begin. On the turn into the back straight LEEROY RIPPER shifted out and made contact with the heels of ROYAL HOTEL.
Race 4 – 5th
Grade 520m
MY TINY SIZE and RUM RAMBLER were best to begin. Approaching the turn out of the front straight DETROIT MUSCLE shifted out and made contact with the heels of OUR CHALLENGE, causing both greyhounds to be checked. Rounding the turn into the back straight DETROIT MUSCLE shifted out and clipped the heels of OUR CHALLENGE causing both greyhounds to be hampered. Rounding the turn out of the back straight DETROIT MUSCLE made contact with the heels of OUR CHALLENGE causing both greyhounds to be checked.
Race 5 – 5th Grade
520m
LEEROY ROLLER, PASSIVE PROTEST, GREAT KNOCK THAT and LEHMAN BENZ were best to begin. DOWN THEY CAME shifted out shortly after the start and raced wide. Approaching the turn out of the front straight PEARLS ANGEL clipped the heels of UNGOVERNED shifted out and made contact with DOWN THEY CAME, causing both greyhounds to be checked. Approaching the turn into the back straight SHIFT SEINE shifted out and made contact with the heels of GREAT KNOCK THAT causing both greyhounds to be checked. LEHMAN BENZ raced wide over various stages of the race. Rounding the home turn UNGOVERNED shifted out which resulted in DOWN THEY CAME and PEARLS ANGEL being hampered.
Race 6 – 4/5th
Grade 520m
CERVELO was best to begin. Shortly after the start BUTCHULLA BOY shifted in and made contact with DON’T DOUBLE UP causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground. IRINKA SHANE was slow to begin. Approaching the turn out of the front straight BUTCHULLA BOY shifted in and made contact with DON’T DOUBLE UP causing that greyhound to be checked. Approaching the turn into the back straight BUTCHULLA BOY shifted in and made contact with OH THAT’S NICE resulting in that greyhound to be checked. IRINKA SHANE which was trailing was checked as a consequence. In the back straight BUTCHULLA BOY shifted in and made contact with OH THAT’S NICE causing that greyhound to be checked. IRINKA SHANE which was trailing was checked as a consequence.
Race 7 – 5th Grade 600m
STRING QUARTET was best to begin. MAGIC KITCHEN and BRALYN AMY were both slow to begin. Rounding the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion MERCEDES LASS and GOT A BROTHER bumped causing both greyhounds to be hampered. Leaving the front straight GOT A BROTHER shifted in and hampered MAGIC KITCHEN. Approaching the turn into the back straight MERCEDES LASS shifted in which hampered GOT A BROTHER. Rounding the home turn STRING QUARTET and ALLEZ DE BRAVE bumped.
The greyhound STRING QUARTET was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Mr. A Fitzsimmons the trainer of STRING QUARTET reported that the greyhound was having its first start over the 600m for some time. He stated that he was somewhat surprised to see the greyhound leading the event as its usual racing pattern it to race from behind and finish strongly. He further stated that he was of the view that STRING QUARTET having led the event may have taken its toll over the concluding stages as it gave ground over the final 100m. Mr. Fitzsimmons’s explanation was noted.
Race 8 – 5th Grade Final 520m
Even start. Approaching the turn out of the front straight ULTRA BLUE, STUART’S CHOICE, MINNIE IMPACT and INSIDE PASS all raced tight and were checked to varying degrees. WHIRLY WAY which was trailing these greyhounds was checked as a consequence. Approaching the turn into the back straight ULTRA BLUE shifted out and made contact with INSIDE PASS causing both greyhounds to be checked. Approaching the turn into the front straight STUART’S CHOICE and WHIRLY WAY bumped.
Race 9 – 5th Grade 520m
YOUR DEAL was best to begin. NEVER ENDS and GRIN AND WIN were slow to begin.
Race 10 – 4/5th Grade 395m
Even start. Shortly after the start TOURMALINE shifted out resulting in TOKATEE KHAN being checked. Approaching the turn into the back straight SUPA SMOOTH OSTI shifted in and made contact with LAKODA DAWN causing that greyhound to be checked. KAWASAKI ROSE which was racing to its inside was checked as a consequence and both greyhounds lost ground.
