The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

The greyhound THAIDAY NIGHT performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.86.
The greyhound LEADFOOT EXPRESS performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.68.
The greyhound ANGEL MOON performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.10.
The greyhound WICKED QUEEN performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.72and is now cleared all tracks.
Even start. ROCKING RONNY and CAN OF SPRITE were checked for racing room shortly after the start and lost ground. Approaching the turn out of the front straight BLUE PRINCE contacted the heels of CELESTIAL SELENE resulting in both greyhounds being checked. BOOTY BEACH which was trialing was checked shifted out and made contact with MCCAW MACCAW and CAN OF SPRITE, causing all 3 greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight ROCKING RONNY checked over the heels of CELESTIAL SELENE and was checked as a consequence.
Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 520m
Even start. Rounding the turn out of the front straight
GOOD GIRL JANICE shifted out and made contact with BELLA CRUSADER which then in
turn shifted out and made contact with DOOGAL, causing all 3 greyhounds to be
checked. In the back straight BIG EASY
RED shifted out and clipped the heels of GEORGE GALLON. Rounding the home turn BIG EASY RED shifted
out and made contact with GEORGE GALLON, causing both greyhounds to be
checked. In the run to the finish BIG
EASY RED turned its head and made muzzle contact with GEORGE GALLON.
Stewards advised trainer Mrs. G Dart that the greyhound BIG EASY RED would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.
Race 3 – Novice 520m
Approaching the turn out of the front straight STILL COUNTING shifted in and tightened the racing room of LOCHILIME causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground. Shortly afterwards JAGGER LILLY and LOCHILIME collided causing both greyhounds to be hampered.
The
greyhound LOCHILIME was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off
side hock and was stood down for a period of 14 days.
Race 4 – 0 – 3 Wins 600m
Even start. SKINNY MIN was slow to begin. Rounding the 1st turn SKINNY MIN and MERCEDES LASS collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked. Approaching the turn into the back straight SIVAMET and FIGURE SKATER came together. Leaving the back straight rounding the home turn SKINNY MIN raced wide. In the run to the finish SIVAMET clipped the heels of FIGURE SKATER.
Race 5 – 5th
Grade Heat 1 520m
THAT’S INSANE and COLLEGE BELLE were best to begin. Shortly after the start COLLEGE BELLE shifted out. Rounding the turn out of the front straight LEEROY ROLLER clipped the heels of ASTOUND YA.
Race 6 – 5th
Grade Heat 2 520m
YOUR DEAL was best to begin. WINTON BURN shifted out shortly after the start resulting in STRAYA being checked and lost momentum.
The greyhound WINTON BURN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Trainer Mr. A Monaghan explained that he was expecting WINTON BURN to jump and lead the event however, after being checked in the early stages he was satisfied with the greyhound’s performance. He further stated that this was its 2nd start over the 520m and he expected WINTON BURN to improve with racing. His explanation was noted.
The
greyhound STRAYA was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the stomach
muscles and was stood down for a period of 14 days.
Race 7 – 5th Grade Heat 3 520m
SANDGROUNDER was best to begin. SMOKING PAWS was slow to begin. Rounding the turn out of the front straight SMOKING PAWS and STARTIN’ MONDAY collided. Leaving the back straight SMOKING PAWS contacted the heels of UNGOVERNED. Rounding the turn into the front straight STARGATE SYSTEM contacted the heels of SANDGROUNDER causing STARGATE SYTEM to be checked and lose ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight HER FAULT checked over the heels of SANDGROUNDER.
Trainer Mrs. K Hoggan explained that the greyhound SMOKING PAWS had been racing well leading up to tonight’s event and she was expecting a forward showing however, after missing the start and then receiving several checks in the running she was satisfied with the greyhound’s performance. She further stated that SMOKING PAWS is best section of the race had been in the first and second quarters of the event and it was her view that in tonight’s event SMOKING PAWS was hampered throughout those stages which effected its finishing position. SMOKING PAWS was examined by the Club’s Veterinarian Surgeon who reported to have found no obvious abnormalities. Her explanation was noted.
Race 8 – 4/5th Grade 600m
SWIFT PIRATE, MINNIE IMPACT and APATITE were best to begin. GUNNA WINK was slow to begin. Rounding the 1st turn SWIFT PIRATE contacted the heels of MINNIE IMPACT which resulted in SWIFT PIRATE being checked, shift out and contact PICTURES PEARCE, which then in turn shifted out checking SMASHNIAK GOLD and COLLIDER GIRL. Approaching the turn into the back straight SARAJEVO GIRL clipped the heels of COLLIDER GIRL and lost ground.
Mrs. S Hunt the trainer of SWIFT PIRATE explained that SWIFT PIRATE had been working very well up until tonight’s event and she was expecting a forward showing. She stated that after being checked on the 1st turn it dropped well back and may have lost sign of the lure. She further stated that SWIFT PIRATE is best suited when drawing a wider box where it may avoid interference in the early stages of the race. SWIFT PIRATE was examined by the Club’s Veterinarian Surgeon who reported to have found no obvious abnormalities. Her explanation was noted.
Race 9 – 5th Grade Heat 4 520m
VELOCITY SHIRL was best to begin. SOFT SOUND and SILKY OAK were slow out. Approaching the turn out of the front straight TIA TWO was severely checked due to general tightening. SHIFT SEINE was checked as a result of this incident. Rounding the turn into the front straight SOFT SOUND and TOURMALINE collided. Both greyhounds were checked.
The greyhound SHIFT SEINE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
The greyhound TIA TWO was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 10 – 5th Grade Heat 5 520m
JIMMY WHO, HOT LIKE A SUNSET and GREAT KNOCK THAT were best to begin. PLUM JAM and DOWN THEY CAME were slow to begin. Rounding the turn out of the front straight DOWN THEY CAME checked off the heels of DOUBLE STORM, shifted out and made contact with PLUM JAM causing both greyhounds to be checked. Leaving the back straight PLUM JAM made heavy contact with the heels of HOT LIKE SUNSET causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.
