The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

The greyhound SEIZED ASSET performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.43.

The greyhound YOU AYE performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.68.

Race 1 – Maiden 331m

LA CHASE RAPIDE, KASEY’S TURBO and BRIGANTINE were best to begin. FAMOUS REBEL was slow out. Approaching the turn out of the back straight BRIGANTINE made contact with the heels of LA CHASE RAPIDE resulting in BRIGANTINE being checked and losing ground. Leaving the back straight DEAD END made contact with the hindquarters of HOPEFUL JACK causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground. MR SURRENDER was hampered as a result of this incident.

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 1 331m

DUSTY ROCKS was best to begin. Approaching the turn out of the back straight GUMTREE KID contacted the heels of GRAND ROSIE causing both greyhounds to be hampered. Leaving the back straight GUMTREE KID contacted the heels of HASHTAG SI causing that greyhound to be checked. Approaching the turn into the front straight LITTLE CHA CHA and MAGIC PASS collided resulting in MAGIC PASS shifting out and making contact with ZABDON PRADA, causing that greyhound to be severely checked and fall. GRAND ROSIE was severely checked as a consequence.

The greyhound ZABDON PRADA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

Due to a severe electrical storm all races from Race 3 onwards were put back 3 race slots, however after giving careful consideration to the continuing electrical storms and with the safety of the participants and Greyhounds being paramount the remainder of the program was cancelled.
