Race 2 – 0 – 3 Wins 600m

SIDBO was best to begin.  LEGACY CHIEF and SUNNYSIDE JAY were slow out.  Rounding the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion HURRICANE CHANCE bumped GOOD GIRL JANICE causing that greyhound to shift out and make contact with UNIQUE GHOSTY resulting in GOOD GIRL JANICE and UNIQUE GHOSTY being hampered.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight TAIPAN’S TIME made contact with the hindquarters of GOOD GIRL JANICE causing that greyhound to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  SUNNYSIDE JAY was checked as a result of this incident.

Stewards advised trainer Mr. M Cuneo that the greyhound SPIRITED REVENGE would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

Race 9 – 4/5th Grade 395m

The ‘all clear’ was delayed to allow the stewards the opportunity to view the official patrol film in regards to whether or not CHEEKY CHANCE was denied a fair start.  After viewing the patrol film and taking evidence from Erin Cameron who boxed the greyhound, club’s official start Ms. Donna Hannigan and club official Callam Press who reported to the stewards that he observed CHEEKY CHANCE had turned in the boxes and was facing the wrong direction when the start was effected.  After considering the matter and acting under Rule 52 (2) stewards were of the view that CHEEKY CHANCE was prevented from participating on equal terms with other starters due to the  circumstances in positioning  of  the greyhound in the boxes and therefore declared it a ‘Non Starter” and ordered all bets placed on CHEEKY CHANCE to be refunded in full.

Even start.  Rounding the turn into the front straight SPANKY’S LEGEND shifted out muzzle contact marring the running of MACARENA MISS, resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and losing ground taking no further competitive part in the race.
