WINTER CUP HEATS THURSDAY NIGHT MAIDEN 520M

Even start.  Shortly after the start SMART MARLOW shifted out which hampered the running of ZILLIE BEAN.  Leaving the front straight MODEL TEE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  ZALHANI and FAST GIRL ZOLA raced wide rounding the turn out of the front straight.  Approaching the turn into the back straight MODEL TEE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  ZALHANI and FAST GIRL ZOLA bumped on a number of occasions to the run to the finish.

WALLY KAZAM and BISHOP’S LASS were best to begin.  WHERE’S HOPE was slow to begin.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight SWEET TALK and SMASHNIAK BARC collided.  Approaching the turn into the front straight BISHOP’S LASS and ASTON CHANEL collided resulting in ASTON CHANEL being checked and losing ground.

SULZANTI @ STUD NOVICE 520M

SO SABRINA, IMA TALENT, FLASH VENTURE and MIA MYA MO were best to begin.  HERE FOR YOU, LUCKY MARLOW, CALAMITY JANE and NATURAL LAD were slow out.  Shortly after the start HERE FOR YOU and LUCKY MARLOW collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight MIA MYA MO shifted out and made contact with CALAMITY JANE resulting in that greyhound shifting out and making contact with NATURAL LAD.  Both CALAMITY JANE and NATURAL LAD were checked and lost ground as a result of this incident.

GARRARD’S HORSE & HOUND NOVICE 520M

DOWN SIZED UP, JOSIE RUMBLE and HONEY HORNET were best to begin.  ISLA’S OPAL was slow out.  Leaving the front straight on the 1st occasion DOWN SIZED UP made contact with the running rail and was checked as a consequence.  Entering the back straight LIL’S ROSE checked over the heels of ISLA’S OPAL and was checked as a consequence.  Approaching the turn into the front straight FLY WEIGHT and ISLA’S OPAL collided resulting in FLY WEIGHT to be checked and to lose ground.  The muzzle on GUN POWER became displaced throughout the race.  In the front straight during the latter stages of the race GUN POWER turned its head and marred the running of DOWN SIZED UP.

 

The greyhound DOWN SIZED UP underwent a Veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. R Keidge that the greyhound GUN POWER would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

GLEN GALLON @ STUD 5th GRADE 520M

UNIQUE MOTIVE was best to begin.  PYRO BOB and WISH YOU WILL were slow out.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight CEASER DE KAHN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight PYRO BOB contacted the heels of CEASER DE KAHN resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Leaving the back straight CEASER DE KAHN improved onto the heels of SUMMER’S PRANCER and was momentarily hampered.

 

The greyhound CEASER DE KAHN underwent a Veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound PYRO BOB underwent a Veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

TARMAC BLACK was best to begin.  PLUM JAM was slow to begin.  SUMMYSIDE JAY was extremely slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight SIZEABLE made contact with the running rail and was checked as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the front straight PLUM JAM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound SIZEABLE  underwent a Veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

UBET – THE NEW TAB 5th GRADE FINAL 520M

MUMMA’S HOPE, COSADO SUN and INNER WISDOM were best to begin.  AZTEC FLASH was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start RUM RAMBLER shifted out which hampered the running of OCTOBER SPRING.  Shortly after RUM RAMBLER checked across the heels of EGYPTIAN MISS and was momentarily hampered.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight COSADO SUN and BUBBLE GUPPY collided resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose ground.  MUMMA’S HOPE and EGYPTIAN MISS which were trailing were severely checked as a consequence.  Leaving the front straight RUM RAMBLER and AZTEC FLASH collided resulting in RUM RAMBLER being checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight OCTOBER SPRING was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  AZTEC FLASH which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence.

 

The greyhound MUMMA’S HOPE underwent a Veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound BUBBLE GUPPY underwent a Veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Trainer Mr. T Apap when questioned was of the view that the greyhound whilst being severely checked in the early stages of the race was disappointed with the efforts over the concluding stages.  He stated that he may reconsider starting the greyhound over the 520m starts and return to racing at Ipswich in the near future.  Stewards noted his explanation however, instructed him to advise stewards if there was anything to come amiss with the greyhound in the upcoming days.

Even start with the exception of BUSH SPIRIT and ON THE CLOCK which were both slow to begin.  Rounding the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion NOT LIKE TOMMY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight GREAT KNOCK THAT and NOT LIKE TOMMY bumped resulting in both greyhounds being momentarily hampered.  Entering the back straight BUSH SPIRIT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

Even start.  Entering the back straight CLASSIC TRADER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  THIS TIME REBA which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  Through this incident SMASHNIAK STAR and KIMAHRI RONSO were checked as a consequence.  In the back straight SMASHNIAK STAR and KIMAHRI RONSO collided resulting in SMASHNIAK STAR being checked and lose ground.  Entering the front straight KIMAHRI RONSO and MISS RUCKUS collided resulting in MISS RUCKUS being checked and lose ground.
