Stewards Trial 1 – 520m

The greyhound SPLENDIFEROUS performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.47 and is now cleared all tracks.

 

The greyhound FLASH ROSE performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.74 and is now cleared all tracks except Brisbane until after 4 July 2017.

 

Stewards Trial 1 – 395m

The greyhound BARGOT performed a satisfactory Return to Racing trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 24.00.

 

The greyhound MERRIWA performed a satisfactory Return to Racing trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.59.

 

The greyhound GOSHI performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.37.

RACE REPORTS

1.

ASSET BODY CORPORAL BRIBIE ISLAND MAIDEN 520M

ALPHA ATLAS was marginally slow to begin and HOME LUCK was slow to begin.  In the front straight MADRE and ITCHY FINGER were tightened for room and hampered.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight ALPHA THEIA was tightened for room and subsequently contacted the heels of FROSTY BEJAY resulting in ALPHA THEIA to be checked and FROSTY BEJAY to be checked and shift outwards.  While shifting outward FROSTY BEJAY contacted the hindquarters of ALISSA’S ANGEL and making contact with HOME LUCK resulting in ALISSA’S ANGEL to be momentarily hampered and HOME LUCK to be checked.  ITCHY FINGER which was trailing HOME LUCK improved onto that runner causing ITCHY FINGER to be severely checked and lose ground and HOME LUCK to be severely checked, fall and take no further competitive part in the event.  In the back straight ITCHY FINGER and FROSTY BEJAY were wide.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight MADRE checked off heels.

 

The greyhound ITCHY FINGER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound HOME LUCK underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN FINAL 520M

MR. BELVEDERE and ORBIT THE SUN were best to begin with LOOSE TABACCO slowly away.  In the front straight on the first occasion ALPHA HERMERA checked off heels.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight ORBIT THE SUN was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Approaching the turn into the back straight DAHOMEY WINDSONG shifted inwards resulting in MR. BELVEDERE which was racing to its inside to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight ORBIT THE SUN was tightened for room and hampered.

THIRTY TALKS @ STUD NOVICE 520M

Even start.  In the front straight on the first occasion AUNTY FREDA, AND YOU ARE and WILDASH NELLY were all tightened for room and hampered.  Approaching the first turn AND YOU ARE were tightened for room, hampered and shifted outwards.  AUNTY FREDA which was trailing was hampered as a consequence.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight COSMIC REX raced wide.  Rounding the turn into the back straight WILDASH WILLOW was tightened for room and hampered.  Rounding the turn into the front straight WILDASH CECIL shifted outwards and made contact with COSMIC REX resulting in that runner to be severely checked and lose ground.  WILDASH CECIL continued to shift outwards, turned its head and made muzzle contact with AND YOU ARE resulting in that runner to be checked and lose ground.  Shortly after AUNTY FREDA checked off heels.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. B Giltinan that the greyhound WILDASH CECIL would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

NEYMAR MAGIC and MURSLEO were slow to begin.  Rounding the turn into the front straight on the first occasion LIL’S ROSE shifted outwards and collided with SORRENTO resulting in both runners to be severely checked.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight COWGIRL LUCY suffered an injury and commenced to give ground finishing a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.  Shortly after MURSLEOW checked off heels.  AURIGA BINDI which was trailing was forced out wide on the turn as a consequence.  Through the turn into the back straight NEYMAR MAGIC improved onto COWGIRL LUCY resulting in NEYMAR MAGIC to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight LIL’S ROSE was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  In the back straight LIL’S ROSE was wide.

 

The greyhound COWGIRL LUCY underwent a post-race veterinariany examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip support and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

HIPSTER was best to begin.  Approaching the first turn STILL COUNTING was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Shortly after BOGAN DANCER was tightened for room, severely checked and lost considerable ground.  Entering the first turn DAISY RUMBLE and JACOBY RAIDER collided resulting in both runners to be checked and shift outwards on the turn.  Through the turn into the front straight BOGAN DANCER and JACOBY RAIDER bumped resulting in both runners to be hampered.  Rounding the turn into the front straight BINERAY BOY shifted outwards and collided with STILL COUNTING resulting in that runner to be checked.

 

The greyhound BOGAN DANCER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound FABULOUS SHOW underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start.  Shortly after the start CHILLED HEAT was tightened for room and hampered.  Approaching the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion HURRICANE CHANCE was tightened for room and hampered.  CHILLED HEAT which was trailling was hampered as a consequence.  Shortly after GUNNA WINK was tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight CHILLED HEAT checked off heels.  Entering the turn out of the back straight WAY OF SHADOWS was tightened for room and checked.

CHEEKY CHANCE was best to begin with VENOM STRIKES slowly away.  Shortly after the start STANKY LEG was tightened for room and hampered.  Entering the first turn CHEEKY CHANCE was tightened for room and hampered.  Shortly after VENOM STRIKES contacted the heels of ELING FEELING resulting in that runner to be checked and forced out wide on the turn.  Rounding the turn into the back straight VENOM STRIKES bumped CHEEKY CHANCE resulting in VENOM STRIKES to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight STANKY LEG contacted the heels of ELING FEELING which resulted in both runners to be momentarily hampered.

ELEGANT STRIDER, GOLD RAINS and SPLENDID STAR were best to begin.  Approaching the first turn GOLD RAINS and BRIGHT SATELLITE collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  IMA PACEMAN which was racing to their outside was checked as a consequence.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight BRIGHT SATELLITE was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Rounding the turn into the front straight WILDASH WILDBOY checked off heels.  In the front straight BRIGHT SATELLITE was wide.

Even start.  Shortly after the start FROSTY AJAY, STATUE BRO and SPRING SHANAE were all tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight STATUE BRO improved onto the hindquarters of HARA’S BUNDY resulting in both runners to be severely checked and shift out wide on the turn and lose considerable ground.  Entering the turn out of the back straight SPRING SHANAE and FROSTY AJAY bumped resulting in FROSTY AJAY to be momentarily hampered.  Shortly after SKITTISH EXPRESS checked off heels.  Rounding the turn into the front straight HARA’S BUNDY checked off heels.
