BIG BANG TEXADA was best to begin, SECRET KEPT was marginally slow.  BIG BANG TEXADA and SUMMER’S PICK raced tight at the 1st turn, BIG BANG TEXADA was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground.  SECRET KEPT, which was trailing, was inconvenienced and lost ground.  Shortly after, SUMMER’S PICK was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, SUMMER’S PICK was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost significant ground as a consequence.  SECRET KEPT, FARMOR RUSH and FROSTY BLACK JAY, which were trailing, were all inconvenienced, checked and lost ground as a result.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, MAM SAID was impeded and shifted out.

ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB MAIDEN (2) – 395M

 

NAN’S MAGIC was best to begin, UNIQUE ACTION was slow.  In the 1st turn, JUST TO CLASSIE was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  ZABDON ZINGER, which was trailing, checked off the heels of JUST TO CLASSIE and become severely unbalanced, losing substantial ground as a result.  UNIQUE ACTION, which was trailing, was impeded and also lost substantial ground.  Leaving the turn into the home straight, COMBAL ZERO and DECADENT ENOUGH collided, with DECADENT ENOUGH checking off heels shortly after.  FARMOR KA CHING, which was trailing, was severely inconvenienced and lost considerable ground as a result. 

The greyhound ZABDON ZINGER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS MAIDEN FINAL  – 395M

 

RED HOT GOSSIP and OBLIVINATOR were both marginally slow to begin.  FARCELONA FINX and FARMOR IMAGE checked shortly after the start, resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced.  The entire field raced tight into the 1st corner, with FARMOR IMAGE and HARA’S SURF tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. TRAV SAID, which was trailing, was inconvenienced as a result and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, TRAV SAID improved onto the rear of OBLIVINATOR, causing OBLIVINATOR to lose ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, TRAV SAID and OBLIVINATOR checked, forcing OBLIVINATOR wide.  HARA’S SURF and MISSY FERGUS, which were trailing, collided heavily, causing both greyhounds to become severely unbalanced and lose significant ground as a consequence. 

 

The greyhound HARA’S SURF underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound MISSY FERGUS underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

THIRTY TALKS @ STUD NOVICE – 395M

 

BLUE TEXADA was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, TOOK A FERGUS was tightened for racing room and lost ground. In the 1st turn, UNIQUE SPIRIT and CHUCKY THE CHAMP raced tight and bumped, causing both greyhounds to lose momentum. TOOK A FERGUS, which was trailing, collided heavily into the rear of CHUCKY THE CHAMP, causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground as a result.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, KINGSBRAE CAROL was impeded, became unbalanced and lost momentum.  CHUCKY THE CHAMP raced wide through the turn into the front straight. 

 

The greyhound CHUCKY THE CHAMP underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 5TH GRADE (1) – 395M

 

ARBORSTONE was best to begin, ABSOLUTELY FAB was marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, TOOKA TRIP checked off heels and lost ground.  MISS GAMBLER and POWER OF PENNY, which were trailing, collided into TOOKA TRIP and lost considerable ground as a result.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, MISS GAMBLER was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

 

The greyhound POWER OF PENNY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Stewards questioned licenced trainer Barry Kitchener in regards to the performance of the greyhound POWER OF PENNY. Mr Kitchener stated that he heard a loud yelp from his greyhound after it was involved in contact at the first turn. Mr Kitchener further stated that it was the greyhounds second run back from an injury and it would improve with fitness.

THE MANLY HOTEL 5TH GRADE – 520M

 

IRINKA GAIL was best to begin, DESTINI SEAHORSE was slow.  EMPIRE STATE and PLANE SPOTTER bumped shortly after the start and lost momentum.  Approaching the 1st turn, PLANE SPOTTER and DESTINI SEAHORSE checked and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, EMPIRE STATE and EMPIRE REIGN bumped, causing EMPIRE REIGN to shift out and check off heels losing considerable ground as a result. 

 

The greyhound EMPIRE REIGN underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound DESTINI SEAHORSE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near fore webbing and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

BRIGHT SATELLITE was best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, ACE GAMBLER was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, CORY’S DIAMOND was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Shortly after, BIG TRIGGER shifted in and impeded CASH FUND, which shifted out and checked into CUTE GAMBLER, causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground as a consequence.  ACE GAMBLER and BIG TRIGGER raced tight and bumped just prior to the finish.

REGAL EMERALD was best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, CRAZY EMJAY, DANCE WITH WOLF and SULTAN OF RUM, checked and became unbalanced, losing ground as a result.  Shortly after, PANTERA NEGRA was tightened for racing room, checked off heel and lost significant ground.  DANCE WITH WOLF raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

BOGIE TEEJAY was best to begin, PRINCESS EMILY was slow.  At the 1st turn, TUBBY TURNER was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  PREMIER TEJAY which was trailing, was impeded and checked off heels losing considerable ground as a consequence.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, FARMOR CHIPS was impeded, shifted out, became unbalanced and lost momentum.  BUDY TOKAAM, which was trailing, was momentarily impeded and lost ground.  Just prior to the finish, PREMIER TEJAY was impeded and lost momentum.

Even start.  At the 1st turn, MISS THICKSHAKE and MATADOR MAN were tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, MATADOR MAN was momentarily impeded and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, MATADOR MAN was impeded and lost ground.  MALUTKI raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

FROSTY AJAY was best to begin, UNIQUE KALEESI was slow. In the first turn ON THE RIZE and SUITE ALEXIS raced tight and bumped. Approaching the turn out of the back straight FANTASIA LEE shifted in, which impeded AMBER ALE causing it to lose ground as a result. MOOSE MAN raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

 

Stewards questioned licenced trainer Renald Attard in relation to the performance of his greyhound FROSTY AJAY, which was successful in tonight’s event which appeared to be an improvement on it’s current form. Mr Attard stated that the greyhound has recently fully recovered from a wrist injury and is performing to it’s ability as a result. He further stated that in his opinion, the greyhound performs better over the longer distances.

GO ALICE GO was best to begin, SPRING BENNY was marginally slow.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, SPRING BENNY was momentarily impeded and lost momentum.  At the turn into the front straight, PIPE OF PEACE shifted out causing DIAMOND SAND to check off heels and lose considerable ground as a result.  SPRING BENNY, which was trailing, was inconvenienced as a result of that contact.  PIPE OF PEACE raced wide through the turn into the front straight.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, SPRING BENNY and DIAMOND SAND raced tight and bumped on occasion.
