Race Reports

Race 1 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE – 520M

 

EARLY SETTLER was best to begin.  MIA’S KARMAR was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, ARE JAY LOCHIE, HARA’S DAZZA and JIMARY MONEYBAGS were all tightened for room and checked.  Approaching the 1st turn, HARA’S DAZZA checked out across heels.  ARE JAY LOCHIE, POSTY’S GIRL and MIA’S KARMAR were all forced out wider on the track.  Through the turn into the back straight, JIMARY MONEYBAGS was tightened for room and checked.  Out of the back straight into the turn, JIMARY MONEYBAGS contacted the heels of EARLY SETTLER, both runners were checked.  Through the turn into the front straight, JIMARY MONEYBAGS contacted the heels of EARLY SETTLER, both runners were checked again. On entering the front straight, JIMARY MONEYBAGS and EARLY SETTLER bumped.

 

 

Race 2 – UBET TAPPY 5TH GRADE – 600M

 

ALPHA CHAOS began awkwardly and lost ground.  Shortly after the start, RULE THE ROAD was tightened for room and hampered.  Shortly after, SWIFT NIMROD sustained an injury and took no further competitive part in the event.  On entering the back straight, SMART MARLOW checked in across heels. A post-race veterinary examination of SWIFT NIMROD revealed the greyhound to be suffering from an injury to its off hind back muscle, 28 days.

 

Race 3 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD MA5 (1) – 520M

 

DUSTY’S CHANCE was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, DISCO DOLLY was tightened for room and hampered.  Entering the 1st turn, REPTAR and AZARIAH were both tightened for room and checked.  Out of the back straight into the turn, DISCO DOLLY was tightened for room and hampered. 

 

When stewards’ questioned trainer, Mr J Crawford, regarding the performance of DUSTY’S CHANCE, Mr Crawford expressed his was disappointed in the greyhound’s performance tonight and that he expected the greyhound to lead with the inside runner being scratched. Mr Crawford also advised stewards’ that he supported the greyhound in tonight’s event. A post-race veterinary examination of DUSTY’S CHANCE revealed the greyhound to be suffering from an injury to the off side pin muscle, 7 days.

 

Race 4 – CNW ELECTRICAL WHOLESALE MA5 (2) – 520M

 

CAPTAIN TIL and SOFT SAND were best to begin.  Shortly after the start, WAHWAH TIGGY, STAR RING, PRECIOUS SAL and ARE JAY DUREE were all tightened for room and checked.  Shortly after, STAR RING and PRECIOUS SAL collided.  Approaching the 1st turn, WAHWAH TIGGY contacted heels, became unbalanced and lost ground.  A post-race veterinary examination of STAR RING failed to reveal any abnormalities.

 

Race 5 – FELIX LOVES THE DOGGIES HB FEELO 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 – 520M

 

BILLY BOY and LIL MISS PINKY were best to begin.  SKYLARK BROOKE was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, MAHONEY became unbalanced and lost ground.  Entering the 1st turn, MAHONEY and BIKINI CLOUD collided.  SKYLARK BROOKE, which was trailing, was hampered.  Through the turn into the back straight, OGODEI STAR was tightened for room and checked out across heels. On entering the front straight, BIKINI CLOUD and HARA’S SKYLAH collided.

 

When stewards’ questioned trainer, Mr L Lewis, into the performance of SKYLARK BROOKE, Mr Lewis advised stewards that bearing in mind this was the greyhound’s 1st start without a trial at the venue, he was still disappointed in the performance. Mr Lewis added the greyhound would benefit from tonight’s race and that, in future, he will be looking to nominate on Monday nights. Mr Lewis further added that he did not support the greyhound in tonight’s event.

 

Race 6 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 520M

 

In the front straight, the lure malfunctioned and the field subsequently caught the lure.

Stewards acting under GAR 57(1) declared race 6 a no race.

Stewards acting under GAR 57(2) (b) conducted a random ballot from the greyhounds which were to compete with the following two greyhounds being drawn for the final:

 

  1. SPOOKY SENSATION
  2. GO RUBY GO

 

KEALOAH, DÉJÀ VU ROCK and SPOOKY SENSATION were all examined by the veterinary surgeon post-race and failed to reveal any abnormalities.

 

Race 7 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND 4TH GRADE – 520M

 

BRIGHT SATELLITE was best to begin.  MAGIC HORNET was slow to begin.  Through the turn into the front straight, MR. BELVEDERE collided with MAGIC HORNET and was checked. 

 

Race 8 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS BEST 8 – 520M

 

BUBBLE GUPPY was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, DEL REY was tightened for room and hampered.  On entering the 1st turn, SNUG checked in across heels.  TRUTH PREVAILS and CORYKODI bumped.  Shortly after, DAHOMEY WINDSONG checked out across heels and collided with BUBBLE GUPPY, which was checked.  Out of the turn into the back straight, DEL REY was tightened for room and checked. Out of the back straight into the turn, NEEKY’S WAY and SNUG collided.  DEL REY was tightened for room and hampered.  Through the turn into the front straight, DAHOMEY WINDSONG raced in restricted room and checked out across heels.  Approaching the winning post, CORYKODI was tightened for room and hampered. 

 

Race 9 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 – 520M

 

NIKKI NETTLE underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.

 

EMMA’S MAGIC was slow to begin. Approaching the 1st turn, CAKE IT ON, WILDASH CECIL and NIKKI NETTLE were all tightened for room and hampered.  NAKURU, which was trailing, contacted the heels of WILDASH CECIL, both runners were checked.  STEALTH KARMAR then collided with NAKURU and was checked. Through the turn into the back straight, STEALTH KARMAR was tightened for room and checked. NAKURU, which was trailing, was checked.  Out of the back straight into the turn, CAKE IT ON was tightened for room and checked. NAKURU contacted the heels of WILDASH CECIL, both runners were checked.  Through the turn into the front straight, WILDASH CECIL and NAKURU collided. In the front straight, NIKKI NETTLE collided with JETTA KNIGHT and was checked. Shortly after, JETTA KNIGHT shifted out and collided with NIKKI NETTLE. 

 

 

Race 10 – BRISGREYS.COM 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 – 520M

 

REGAL RECALL was best to begin.  KENATAY began awkwardly.  Shortly after the start, YEAH OKAY, KENATAY and PANTHER CLOUD all collided.  Approaching the 1st turn, YEAH OKAY was tightened for room and checked in across heels.  On entering the 1st turn, CHIEF SNOW and BOKARM DEAN collided. Through the turn into the back straight, YEAH OKAY checked out across heels. BOKARM DEAN and SUPER CUP bumped.  Out of the back straight into the turn, YEAH OKAY bumped REGAL RECALL. BOKARM DEAN, PANTHER CLOUD and KENATAY were all tightened for room and checked.
