Race Reports

 

Race 1 – UBET TAPPY MAIDEN HEAT 1 – 331M

 

GOLD GRACE was best to begin. Shortly after the start, MAGIC GAZELLE shifted in checking KOORINGA ZOE and BLUE JAY JAY.  In the 1st turn, OUTBACK SHADOW was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Leaving the turn, KOORINGA ZOE clipped heels.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, OUTBACK SHADOW shifted out and clipped heels and lost ground. Entering the front straight, VALEGRO clipped heels and was hampered. 

 

 

Race 2 – ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 331M

 

BRIDGET BENZ and SOLO MISSION were best to begin, with DEVIL FISH marginally slow.  Approaching the turn, SHEZ NIKITA clipped heels.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, SHEZ NIKITA and DANILO collided. Approaching thefinishing line, DEVIL FISH and SOLO MISSION bumped.

 

Race 3 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN HEAT 3 – 331M

 

Even start, with LAURASH ACTION marginally slow. Shortly after the start, ELUSIVE FANCY and AIDAN’S MAGIC were tightened for racing room and lost ground. Leaving the turn, ELUSIVE FANCY, MEERKAT WARRIOR, AIDAN’S MAGIC and TIGHT CIRCLE collided, causing all greyhounds to be hampered at differing degrees.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, LAURASH ACTION checked ELUSIVE FANCY, causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  In the front straight, TIGHT CIRCLE collided with LAURASH ACTION and AIDAN’S MAGIC causing all greyhounds to lose ground at differing degrees. 

 

Race 4 – BRAD’S BUCKS NOVICE (1) – 331M

 

TOP SCORE was best to begin, with WHO’S HOPE slow.  Shortly after the start, FLYING COMET was tightened for racing room. Leaving the turn, FEAR BETTY clipped heels, checking TEJAY’S MAGIC, both greyhounds were consequently hampered. Entering the front straight, TOP SCORE, TEJAY’S MAGIC and FEAR BETTY bumped. Approaching the finishing line, WHO’S HOPE collided with TOP SCORE.

 

 

Race 5 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD NOVICE (2) – 331M

 

SO CRAZY was best to begin, with MR. POLITIS and FABIO MARSHA marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, LUNA BEACH shifted in checking HEAD SPIN and APACHE VILLA, both greyhounds were hampered.  Leaving the turn, MR. POLITIS shifted out and checked GOLDEN STORM, causing GOLDEN STORM to lose ground. In the front straight, GOLDEN STORM raced wide. 

 

Race 6 – TWITTER @ BRISGREYS 5PW – 331M

 

“All Clear” was delayed so stewards could view the photo finish, stewards were comfortable with the decision and the all clear was given.

 

WESTMEAD DAFFIE was best to begin, with DANYO’S LOZZA slow. Shortly after the start, VELOCITY ZARIN, DESTINI PEGASUS and SHESA DRATTA were all tightened for racing room, causing SHESA DRATTA to lose ground.   Approaching the turn, SHESA DRATTA and DESTINI PEGASUS collided. In the straight, SHESA DRATTA shifted in checking WESTMEAD DAFFIE.

 

The greyhound WONDERLAND underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Stewards’ questioned licensed trainer, Mr M Edwards, regarding the performance of WONDERLAND, where he stated that the greyhound would race at Ipswich on Tuesday and decide the greyhound’s future after that run. 

 

Race 7 – WITHCOTT HOTEL 5TH GRADE (1) – 331M

 

KINGSTON’S BOY and MISS GAMBLER were best to begin. Shortly after the start, MISS GAMBLER was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  In the turn, BLACKJACK BETTY and SPUDTASTIC collided, causing all greyhounds to lose ground. Approaching the finishing line, KINGSTON’S BOY and BLACKJACK BETTY bumped.

 

Race 8 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS MA5 – 331M

 

Even start. Shortly after the start LAZZA MANAZZA commenced to give ground in open running.  CHEVALEIR NUIT, IRON MONARCH, MISS HIPSTA and RACHEL TERROR raced tight. .

 

The greyhound LAZZA MANAZZA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 9 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 331M

 

Even start, with MY FIRST PATCH marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, ELLY BYE BYE was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  MY FIRST PATCH was checked and lost ground. the turn, HA HA CLASSY and SHADOW COURT bumped.  At the same time, DE ZOOYA and LEGEND MAN collided.  Entering the front straight, LEGEND MAN, MY FIRST PATCH and DE ZOOYA all raced tight. 

 

The greyhound MY FIRST PATCH underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 10 – BRISGREYS.COM MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 395M

 

Even start, with BENNETT marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, all greyhounds raced tight and lost ground at differing degrees.  In the back straight, TREAGLE TRIUMPH, KATIE WHO, CUTE GAMBLER and SANTA CLAWS all raced tight and lost ground at differing degrees. In the front straight, BENNET and CUTE GAMBLER bumped.

 

Race 11 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE 5TH GRADE (2) – 331M

 

Even start, with REGAL LEN marginally slow. Shortly after the start, MIDNIGHT TO ONE was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, CHASING DIAMONDS clipped heels, shifted out checking MIDNIGHT TO ONE and REGAL LEN.  DREAM YOUR DREAM checked as a result causing all greyhounds to lose ground at differing degrees. In the front straight, CHASING DIAMONDS and REGAL LEN bumped.

 

The greyhound MIDNIGHT TO ONE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound DREAM YOUR DREAM underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hock and was stood down for a period of 3 months.

 

Race 12 – THE MANLY HOTEL 5TH GRADE (3) – 331M

 

INDIAN RUBY was best to begin. Shortly after the start, FABTHOR clipped heels, shifted out and checked MR. GAMBLER.  Leaving the turn, MR. GAMBLER commenced to give ground in open running. Entering the straight, ULLO BELLS and BRYSTONES BEACH bumped. 

 

The greyhound MR. GAMBLER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.
