Race Reports

 

General:  Tonight’s meeting was conducted with a finish-on-lure.

 

Race 1 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MAIDEN – 520M

 

SUNBURNT ROAD, CYNDIE’S ANNIE, EYE HATE CAKE and HARA’S SURF were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, CYNDIE’S ANNIE was bumped by another runner and momentarily hampered.  Approaching the first turn, CYNDIE’S ANNIE, EYE HATE CAKE and HARA’S SURF were all tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, CYNDIE’S ANNIE turned its head outwards and marred the running of SUNBURNT ROAD on several occasions, resulting in both runners to lose considerable ground.  EYE HATE CAKE raced wide rounding the turn into the home straight. 

 

Stewards’ advised trainer Mr J Conlon that the greyhound CYNDIE’S ANNIE would be stood down pursuant to GAR.69, Marring 2nd offence, 3 months and be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to racing.

 

Race 2 – ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB NOVICE – 520M

 

Stewards’ delayed the “all clear” to review the patrol film to ascertain the positioning of the lure on the first turn.  After reviewing the film, Stewards’ were comfortably satisfied that no greyhound had been substantially inconvenienced and declared “all clear” on the judges semaphored numbers.

 

INOUNO, VANDERWEGHE, EYE LIKE CAKE and TOO GOOD JOOG were slow to begin.  Entering the first turn, TOO GOOD JOOG clipped heels and became momentarily unbalanced.  Entering the turn out of the back straight, UNIQUE LEIGH was tightened for room and checked.  TOO GOOD JOOG, which was trailing, was hampered as a consequence.  Through the turn into the home straight, TOO GOOD JOOG checked off heels.  Rounding the turn into the home straight, TOO GOOD JOOG and IMA TIPPA TO collided, resulting in both runners to be checked.  Over the concluding stages, EYE LIKE CAKE and TOO GOOD JOOG and IMA TIPPA TOO raced tight and were hampered to varying degrees. 

 

Race 3 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS MA5 – 395M

 

Even start.  Shortly after the start, HOLLY KNOCKS and ALOTA DAGZ bumped, resulting in both runners to be hampered.  Through the first turn, EBONY SANDS checked off heels and lost ground.  ALOTA DAGZ, which was trailing, shifted out to avoid that runner’s heels.  Entering the back straight, EBONY SANDS checked off heels.  Through the turn into the home straight, EBONY SANDS checked outwards across heels.  ALOTA DAGZ, which was trailing, shifted out wider on the turn to avoid that runner’s heels.

 

Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD 5TH GRADE – 520M

 

Through the front straight on the first occasion BLITZEN LEE checked off heels and lost ground.  Entering the first turn, BLITZEN LEE checked off heels again.

 

Race 5 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 5PW – 520M

Approaching the first turn, INFRARED LASS was tightened for room, severely checked and lost considerable ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, ROCKY SPIES shifted outwards and checked off heels.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, INFRARED LASS checked off heels.  Rounding the turn into the home straight, BETTER SIZE was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Shortly after, ROCKY SPIES shifted out wide on the turn. 

 

Race 6 – THE MANLY HOTEL MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 520M

 

Stewards’ delayed the “all clear” to review the patrol film to ascertain the positioning of the lure on the first turn.  After reviewing the film, Stewards’ were comfortably satisfied that no greyhound had been substantially inconvenienced and declared “all clear” on the judges semaphored numbers.

 

HAY BILLY was very slow to begin.  Approaching the first turn, GET MESSI and MR. BELVEDERE bumped and were hampered as a consequence.  Entering the first turn, SILVER STUNNER and GET MESSI collided, was severely checked and lost considerable ground.  MR. BELVEDERE also suffered interference as a result of this incident. 

 

Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 5TH GRADE FINAL – 520M

 

LORDE CERINE was very slow to begin.  Approaching the first turn, BRITTANY TALKS, TOOKA TRIP, HAY HOPEY and DAZE LIKE THESE were all tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  IZY MAGIC, which was trailing, improved onto those runners’ heels and was checked as a consequence.  Shortly after, LORDE CERINE shifted outwards to avoid those runners’ heels and raced wide around the turn as a consequence. 

 

The greyhound WAZZA WHO underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – FABERGAS @ STUD BEST 8 – 395M

 

Through the first turn, all runners with the exception of PREMIER TEJAY and REGAL BILL, were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  Through the turn into the home straight, CAPTAIN’S KNOCK was tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the home straight, STUEY improved onto the hindquarters of WAIKARIE NOEL, resulting in both runners to be checked. 

 

Race 9 – UBET TAPPY MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 395M

 

Approaching the turn out of the back straight, RICHMOND ROAD improved onto the hindquarters of BUDDY TOKAAM, resulting in that runner to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  SHOW BEKIM, which was racing to their outside, was severely checked as a consequence.  WHEATACRE, OPPORTUNE KNOCKA and ANOTHER RED, which were trailing, were all checked as a consequence. 

 

The greyhound BUDDY TOKAAM underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 10 – TWITTER @ BRISGREYS MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 331M

 

BLUE GEE TEE was marginally slow to begin.  Entering the back straight, BLUE GEE TEE checked off heels.  Entering the turn out of the back straight, PANTERA NEGRA checked off heels and lost ground.  SHE’S MY LADY, which was trailing, was hampered as a consequence.  Through the turn into the home straight, BLUE GEE TEE checked off heels.  Through the front straight, DIAMOND SAND and SPICE BUCKET bumped on several occasions and were hampered as a consequence.
