Race Reports

 

Race 1 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE – 520M

 

CHROME RUN’s muzzle became dislodged at the start. BEE SOLO began awkwardly and checked in across heels. Shortly after the start, SOUTHERN RIPPLE checked out across heels. OXLEY ONE checked in across heels. On entering the 1st turn, SOUTHERN RIPPLE, OXLEY ONE and CHROME RUN all collided.  SOUTHERN RIPPLE then collided with UNO UNO. BEE SOLO was tightened for room and checked out across heels. Through the turn into the back straight, SOUTHERN RIPPLE bumped OXLEY ONE. CHROME ONE checked out across heels. Out of the back straight into the turn, BEE SOLO was tightened for room and checked out across heels, bumping PHAROAH’S GOLD. In the front straight, CHROME RUN and BEE SOLO collided on a number of occasions. 

 

The greyhound CHROME RUN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB OPEN – 710M

 

Shortly after the start, DOUBLE GEE was tightened for room and hampered. Through the turn into the front straight, DOUBLE GEE checked in across heels. Shortly after, DOUBLE GEE was tightened for room and checked out across heels. Out of the front straight into the turn, DOUBLE GEE checked out across heels. Out of the back straight into the turn, FLYAWAY BARB was tightened for room and hampered. Through the turn into the front straight, DOUBLE GEE bumped DREAM BLASTER. In the back straight, DOUBLE GEE collided with FLYAWAY BARB.

 

The greyhound DOUBLE GEE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – KEDRON WAVELL SERVICES CLUB 5TH GRADE (1) – 520M

 

HAY BILLY began awkwardly. On entering the 1st turn, HARA’S FLAME, REGAL TOPAZ and BILLY BOY all collided and were checked. HAY BILLY, which was trailing, was checked as a result. Through the turn into the back straight, HARA’S FLAME checked out across heels. Out of the back straight into the turn, MAYWYN REWARDS was tightened for room and checked. HAY BILLY was tightened for room and hampered. Through the turn into the front straight, REGAL TOPAZ and BILLY BOY collided. In the front straight, REGAL TOPAZ and BILLY BOY collided. 

 

Race 4 – SALISBURY COMMUNITY SPORTS CLUB 5TH GRADE (2) – 520M

 

SHOES TO FILL and MR. BELVEDERE bumped at the start. Shortly after the start, MONEY FOR JAM, NIKKI NETTLE and AZA ZEUS were all tightened for room and checked. On entering the 1st turn, RULE THE ROAD and MR. BELVEDERE collided. NIKKI NETTLE, which was trailing, checked out across heels. AZA ZEUS was hampered. Out of the back straight into the turn, AZA ZEUS and DAZE LIKE THESE were tightened for room and checked. 

 

Race 5 – MARBURG HOTEL 5TH GRADE – 600M

 

EMMA’S MAGIC and ROCKFORD bumped at the start. Through the turn into the front straight, BROTHER DESY and BRITTANY TALKS were both tightened for room and checked. On entering the front straight, BROTHER DESY checked out across heels and collided with SMART MARLOW and ALPHA CHAOS. Through the turn into the back straight, BRITTANY TALKS and INFRARED STAR collided and were both checked. Out of the back straight into the turn, BRITTANY TALKS was tightened for room and checked.

 

BRITTANY TALKS and EMMA’S MAGIC collided with SNOWBALL OTTO after the winning post and fell.

 

BRITTANY TALKS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 6 – LIGHTNING BNE OPEN FINAL – 331M

 

MUSTANG TULLY was best to begin. SO CRAZY was slow to begin. REGAL BILL, CORYKODI and FARMOR ON FIRE all bumped at the start. Shortly after the start, CORYKODI was tightened for room and checked. Out of the back straight into the turn, SO CRAZY contacted the heels of ALBURY WAY, both runners were checked. Through the turn into the front straight, FARMOR ON FIRE was tightened for room and checked. On entering the front straight, ALBURY WAY and FARMOR ON FIRE bumped. 

 

Race 7 – CARINA LEAGUES CLUB BEST 8 – 520M

 

WISE MISTY was best to begin. LOCH FREDDIE was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, ADHARA STEEL checked out across heels. RICHMOND ROAD was tightened for room and checked. In the front straight, ADHARA STEEL and CASANOVA JOE collided, both runners were checked. CASANOVA JOE sustained an injury and took no further competitive part in the event. On entering the 1st turn, SLICK and LOCH FREDDIE bumped. Out of the back straight into the turn, RICHMOND ROAD improved onto heels and was hampered.

 

The greyhound CASANOVA JOE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 8 – PUBLICAN’S CUP 5TH GRADE FINAL – 520M

 

Shortly after the start, ALPHA VALENTINE was tightened for room and hampered. On entering the 1st turn, AND YOU ARE was tightened for room and checked. KALANI KARL was checked as a result. CHAMPAGNE SALLY collided with YEAH OKAY and was checked.  Through the turn into the front straight, KALANI KARL and ALPHA VALENTINE bumped. AND YOU ARE raced wide through the turn. On entering the front straight, YEAH OKAY, MAYWYNS NOISE and SILVER STUNNER all collided. KALANI KARL contacted the heels of ALPHA VALENTINE, which was checked. 

 

Race 9 – THE MANLY HOTEL MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 520M

 

PENDITA and RIGHT ON CUE were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, AZARIAH was tightened for room and hampered. In the front straight, RIGHT ON CUE checked out across heels. Approaching the 1st turn, EMPIRE STATE shifted out and raced wide through the turn into the back straight. PENDITA and INDIAN GIVER were both tightened for room and checked. RIGHT ON CUE, which was trailing, was checked. Through the turn into the back straight, PENDITA was tightened for room and checked. In the back straight, INDIAN GIVER and RIGHT ON CUE collided. 

 

The greyhound RIGHT ON CUE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near wrist and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 10 – ZILLMERE SPORTS CLUB 5TH GRADE (3) – 520M

 

Shortly after the start, DARK TABOO and REACTOR were both tightened for room and checked.  In the front straight, DOUBLE TAKE and COOPES were both tightened for room and hampered.  On entering the 1st turn, all runners, with the exception of DARK TABOO, collided and were checked to varying degrees.  Through the turn into the back straight, DARK TABOO improved onto heels and was checked.  Out of the turn into the back straight, KATIE WHO and SMALL JEWEL collided, both runners were checked.  Out of the back straight into the turn, OUTBACK MANDRAKE was tightened for room and checked. Out of the turn into the front straight, DARK TABOO collided with KATIE WHO. 

 

The greyhound KATIE WHO underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

 

Race 11 – ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB MA5 (1) – 520M

 

BRIGHT SATELLITE was best to begin.  BIG TURLS was slow to begin.  SAPPHO faulted at the start. On entering the 1st turn, COSMO CYNDIE checked out across heels and bumped ARDEN STREET.  In the back straight, BIG TURLS was tightened for room and checked.  Out of the back straight into the turn, BONKNOCKA LASS and COSMO CYNDIE were both tightened for room and checked.

 

Race 12 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND MA5 (2) – 520M

 

DEEJAY FRANKIE was slow to begin.  In the front straight, TURN AND BURN and ONE DOLLAR were both tightened for room and hampered.  On entering the 1st turn, TURN AND BURN and ONE DOLLAR were both tightened for room and checked.  Out of the back straight into the turn MYONA MORPHEUS bumped PANTERA NEGRA.

 

When questioned regarding the performance of PANTERA NEGRA, trainer Mr Corey Mutton expressed his disappointment in the greyhound’s performance tonight.  He stated that this being the second start over the 520m, the greyhound would benefit from tonight’s run. Mr Mutton explained that it is his intention to race consistently over the 520m and that he did support the greyhound in tonight’s event. Stewards’ in considering Mr Mutton’s explanation placed a warning on the greyhound’s performance, explained that the performance was bordering on unsatisfactory and that the greyhound’s future engagements would be monitored.  Mr Mutton advised that he would be sending PANTERA NEGRA for a veterinary examination in the coming days. Stewards directed Mr Mutton to forward on any abnormalities if found.

 

The greyhound PANTERA NEGRA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
